2003 yamaha v-star 1100. The tube runs from the front of the engine, down along the left side with a few bends in it and ends behind the engine. The leak is in one of the bends. There's actually a good size hole there. There's a small amount of oily residue coming from it, but not to bad. Need to know the name of this to so I can order it. Can't find the name anywhere. Thanks for the help.

Always give year, make, engine size and model # when asking questions. They've been made since 1999.
It's called the "oil delivery pipe".

If its leaking fluid on the left side it'll be oil, on the right, it might be brake fluid.

Vstars have cable clutch and all brake lines are on the right, but I think the 1100 has a rod operated rear brake like my 650.

The only chrome pipe I am aware of on the v stars is the air injection pipe that runs up to the base of the inlet manifold. if its sucking in air rather than leaking oil, this will affect performance severely.

Try to determine what the fluid is that's leaking from the engine. It's probably either engine oil or coolant. Trace the line back to its' attachment point on the engine and tighten the screws or bolts. Be careful that you don't over-tighten the bolts and break them.

Hopefully this will solve your problem, but if not, it's probably better to take it to a mechanic who's familiar with working on your brand of bike.

Ask the dealer!!!! If you don't even know what the thing is, you shouldn't be f'ucking with it. But...if the fluid is amber colored, it's oil; either tranny or motor. If it's red, it's brake fluid. YaMAhas are a mystery to me, but there are only 3 fluids on a motorcycle; the third is gasoline. You don't wanna be leaking either one.

Someone tell bullsh!t dog that a VStar doesn't have tranny fluid, and that brake fluid isn't red.
