WooleyBooley is absolutely wrong -- a *well bred* Siberian is neither "nervous" nor "high strung" -- this is a breed that requires exercise, however they were bred to be "...friendly and gentle, but also alert and outgoing. He does not display the possessive qualities of the guard dog, nor is he overly suspicious of strangers or aggressive with other dogs." (from the AKC Standard).

They should absolutely *never* be aggressive with people. They were bred to be team dogs and agreeable workers, and the Siberian natives that originally developed the breed frequently brought them in to keep themselves and their children warm at night.

Although I never recommend leaving any dog along with small kids, Siberians do fine with well-behaved children.

That said, they MUST have a fenced in yard, shed considerably, and can be noisy and destructive if bored or lonely. They are not the breed for everyone. Here are some links that will help you with your research:

I do rescue & foster dogs. At 1 time 1 had 5 huskies, 2 teens & a 1yr old in the house at the same time. The dogs were so sweet! Smart, beautiful, easily trained cuddlebugs.

They should be fine. You should check with the breeder or where ever you got him/her to find out if the parents have ever had a mean streak in them. if your children are young they you would want to get a young puppy so that they can grow up together, and so that the kids are as rambunctious as the puppy. This way the kids don't get into trouble and the dog gets enough exercise.

No. They tend to be more dominent & wolfish. When the child gets old enough to be at par with rank order there may be problems. If you don't have one yet, think this out carefully. If you already have one, search out many reference sources & consider a dog behavoralist. With a huskie you need special consistency and pack order awareness

I would not recommend that. Huskys are high strung nervous dogs. Quick movements from a child may result in the dog biting. Not the dog's fault.

Yes. I bought a husky for my girlfriend and she has two kids. She is very good with them even though she is almost taller than the kids now.
