I just went to the ATM, then walked to get lunch and a cute guy came running up to me. I'd left 60 quid in the machine!!!

What is the kindest thing a total stranger ever did for you?

(Please; let's keep it clean you naughty monkies)!

I try very hard to do a RAK every day. Random Act of Kindness. Sometimes it's hard to be kind to someone because of all the suspicious attitudes everyone has.

I dropped a folded 20 dollar bill out of my purse & didn't know it. A kid saw it happen I guess & picked it up and ran to catch up with me & gave it back. Not many folks would have done that.

There have been a few, but this story went beyond the call of kindness.
I was living in Japan and wanted to take my boyfriend out to a really nice restaurant for his birthday. I had been to a great one with some Japanese friends once before but it was a few months back. I asked a friend to write down the name and district for me.
The restaurant was in a small town neither of us knew and when we got off the train, we took a taxi. I showed the driver the paper and he glanced at it and said "Italian Restaurant - o.k."
Well, the distance seemed about right even though the taxi took a back way.
The fare seemed right too.
We walked into the restaurant and it felt odd - it didn't look right at all; but I thought "Well, they could have redecorated since I was last here."
Then the menus arrived. Now I was beginning to panic. It was Italian alright, but a totally different menu from before.
Boyfriend was chatting away excitedly and I felt like a real fool. I had set my heart on taking him there for a great crab pasta dish and yes, could've stayed where we were and ordered something, but really wanted that crab!
Finally had to tell boyfriend that we were in the wrong place. So we sat there sipping our water for ages considering what to do. Sending the waiter away whenever he came to take our order. Finally I had to do something, so I approached the manager and very sweetly showed him the paper. He said this place was La Cantina, and Del Soleil was the other Italian Restaurant in the town. Now I felt very stupid and told a little lie; I said I was so sorry but we were supposed to meet our friends at Del Soleil and they are waiting for us; the taxi brought us here even though the driver had seen the paper. I asked if it was far. The Manager said about 5 minutes by car; too far to walk. So I asked if he could phone for another taxi please. He refused. Instead he got the waiter to drive us there in his car!
We were embarrassed but he insisted on it. I kept apologising and promised next time we'd come here.
On the way, the waiter explained that Del Soleil was quite new so not many taxi drivers knew it.
Both restaurants were similar in that they were both a 2 man show - the Manager/owner and the waiter. Both in the same district. Both Italian. Amazing isn't it? Not only do we get to exit the wrong restaurant without any hard feelings, but the waiter actually drives us to their rival!
So kind! We felt guitly for a moment but then had a great time.

Recently my wife and I took a trip to the Black Hills. In northern Nebraska, we had driven 26 miles on a highway from the nearest intersection and were stopped by Highway Patrol because the highway was closed due to a wild fire sending too much smoke across the road. The Officer then gave us bad directions on how to go around and we ended up almost out of fuel and decided to go back to the roadblock. We figured we would run out of gas soon and could not take a chance on going another 67 miles (the distance to go around to the nearest town where we had hotel reservations) so we stopped on the side of the road prepared to sleep there until the road opened up. An elderly couple came by and asked if we were okay. They explained that they lived just up the road. I told them our situation of not having enough gas to go around because of the bad directions we had gotten the first time. They told us to follow them to their house, which we did. They filled our motorcycle completely up with gas, let us call the hotel to explain our delay, drew us a map on how to get around the wild fires, and gave us something to drink before we left. They refused to take money for anything. Those were indeed some of the nicest people I have ever met.

Put me on the right track

I was walking down the street and from out of no where
a woman came from behind and said , may I walk a path with you
I started thinking... a path who says path
So I quickly said you are walking with me now

Then she said you must stop denying God
I said I do not deny Him
She said you are denying Him now

I said offended
You don't know me
She said I know everything about you

I was quiet for a second and said
Who are you a cop
a private investigator
who.......
She said, I am a jailer
and where I come from you would not like

Then inwardly my intelligence had become enlightened
and I knew God had sent me His ministering angel
to minister to me.
So I became quiet and as we reached the end of the street where heavy traffic was, at a stop light
She gracefully motioned with her hand pointing across the street
would you like to sit for tea
And then I said no thank you.
I said inwardly to myself, turn your head for a moment so she can disappear
so I did
and she disappeared while walking across the street
This happened in Sacramento California Stockton Blvd
across from Florin Mall

,No one has ever done anything out of the ordinary other than my family and friends.
I pay for a needy persons breakfast or lunch every time I go to the local diner.
I do this anonymously because sometimes the person or persons are so happy someone cared . Most of the people I do this for are elderly or look poor.
The waitress` co-operate by picking up the check and sneaking it to me .
If you don`t believe this contact Penn Pines Diner located in Aldan Penna.USA.

a few years ago me and my mom were desperate to move back home so we decided to and we had just enough money to eat on for two days and for gas and one weeks worth of hotel money...so we left one early morning and bought brand new tires for her car and the guy seemed a little strang while we were there but we were in a hurry and left the station well low and behold some 300 miles away our car sounded like it exploded and all 4 tires popped..the guy at the stationwho we just bought the tires from filled the tires way too much..so needless to say we were stranded in the middle of the desert and then here comes a big rig with a trailer (empty) i must say...well he took us to the next town 15 miles down the road paid a tow truck driver, bought us new tires and fed us and then the owner of the mechanic shop went around to all the employees and racked up about 200.oo for our way home...And all they wanted from us was that when we got home to call them and let them know we made it ok...someone was looking out for us from up abouve....

She helped me get myself out of a busy intersection after I had been hit by a car in the rain. Everyone else had just left me there, and I was stunned & couldn't move and numb and didn't know I was in pain, so about 10 minutes later, after calling out for help and watching cars pass by, I finally had the wherewithal to pick myself up (sort of) and drag myself out of the road.

This woman stopped her car, and helped me to the curb where my bus shelter was. She called emergency services and then just sat with me until everyone came.

This happened during rush hour morning traffic when I was 17 on my way to school..

Another ATM machine incident. Left the ATM card at the machine. Then, I receive a phone call from some guy later that day saying that he found my ATM card! The strange thing was that he researched my unlisted phone number to get to me. He then offered to mail my card. I just asked him to destroy it. I ordered a new card.

It actually happened to my wife on our wedding day.

She was at a gas station with her maids of honor getting gas to head to the wedding when a man came over and noticed her all dressed up and make-up'd up. He asked her if she was getting married, which she replied yes.

He then handed her a $100 bill and said congratulations on your marriage, then left. Nice man.

Sad part of the story is, several months later, that same bill (we kept it as good luck) was stolen from our apartment by a friend (who is no longer a friend).
