Sorry, the "great event" didn't happen yet. According to prophecy, Israel had to become a nation again (happened in 1948), and the tribulation would start during that generation (biblical generation is 70 years), which gives us until 2018 for the tribulation to start. The tribulation will last 7 years, unless God has pity on us and cuts it down to 3 1/2 years. Christ does not arrive until right before the final wrath, at the end of the tribulation. Since the tribulation hasn't started, the seond coming hasn't happened yet.

The short answer is no.
Many branches of the Christian faith have made predictions about The End Of The World As We Know It, and obviously not a single one of them has come true. People were jumping up and down in excitement when Israel was formed, sure that TEOTWAWKI was right around the corner. There have been claims about the imminent "Second Coming" ever since the Christian faith started. There have always been wars, disasters, and hosts of other problems that come with living.
I'd recommend a visit to http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Oracle/9941/ for an entertaining list of some of the TEOTWAWKI claims. They range from the seemingly well-thought out hopefuls to the deranged ravings of genuine lunatics. The mess in the Middle East is just the latest "sign", and when it finally comes to a close the End Of Times wishers will once again go around looking for another disaster to get ecstatic about.
THE END is not coming unless stupid people looking forward to it bring it about.

It has not happened yet! I think we are very close though. The Rapture has to happen first. Then the anti-christ will sign a seven year peace treaty with Israel and this will begin the tribulation. If you think you can prove that these things have already happened, then the Bible is not true. But I know the Bible is true and you are speaking of heresy.

No!
That is a deception of the devil, Rememer Matthew 24. When Jesus returns all eyes will see Him in the sky not on the internet or on TV, if this happens it is a false Christ as Matthew 24 states. WHen Jesus returns all his angels will be with Him and the dead will rise from the grave and meet Him in the air and we which are alive will be caught up too - 1 Thessalonians 4.

Hmmm... The signs of "end times" have been occurring since 1 AD or earlier... So don't get to excited by it... and if you're waiting on Jesus you should invest in a comfortable chair and a good sleep number bed...

Potentially, yes. But like it says in the bible, only God knows when the end will come. No matter how much we try reading into it, the "end times" we see might not be the "end times" God is waiting for.
Chicks dig it!
