My daughters father has recently returned to the area and we have been discussing starting a relationship again. He says he left because he was running from responsiblity and the like but missed us so much that he had to return. My daugther is young enough that if we got back together she would never know that we he was ever gone, etc.I used to think this man was the love of my life but we have tried so many times to get back together and it has never worked. If he really has changed I feel like I could spend the rest of my life with him because he has a way with me that I can't find anywhere else. He wants to get married and we are talking about having more kids. We've decided to take it like 1800's courting slow and just hang out for a while.I was just wondering how you go about dating someone you have a child with. Also if you have reunited, tell me about it. Thanks!!

When i got pregnant my boyfriend and i split up until my son was 10 months old.We started talking again and got back together,got married we've been married for11 yrs,and have 2 more children.you do need to work out why you broke up to begin with because you do not want him in and out of your child's life.Counseling would be good.

I am in a situation where my son's father left for the same reason also. Since he has left, I have been attending church and studying the bible so I can have a closer relationship with God. If my son's father decided to come back; I would expect him to do the same also. I would also want us both to get pre-marital counseling. If he doesn't want to do any of those things then there is no need for us to get back together because we will be doomed for failure again.

maybe it was difficult at first when he fled, he may of just got all hung up on being tied down,but if nothing like an affair happened to cause it, and he has gone away and thougth it all through, well, have another go, sounds ideal, take it slow as you say, sounds like you will all be good together, a new baby in time, would be lovely. Dont let him stay over until your ready this is what you definately want, but sounds good to me. good luck

Yes I've married my childhood sweetheart he was 14 I was 16 and were very stupid kids . I got pregnant and i didn't tell him about it . Nine years later we were set up as a blind date by his aunt and we fell in love all over again we were married 2 weeks later in and we've had rough times but we've been married for 19 years .As far as dating just go with it as if it were the first time and gl.

I never go back with people once we have parted BUT the slow courtship idea sounds good. People have been known to change and maybe he has. If you take it very very slowly then you can decide for yourself. I suppose that means 'no sex' if it's 1800's courting? I would suggest no sex. Then you'll really see his intentions quickly.
