Does anyone know if there exists or ever will exist a radio that has the flexibility to use either satellite radio or AM/FM radio? In other words, for example, if I wanted to get satellite radio in my car, would I have the ability to replace my old radio with a radio that I could switch between satellite radio and AM/FM at any moment in time?

A lot of car stereos are satellite-ready radios. You will still have AM and FM stations...just that XM or SIRIUS will be built in.
