he's been the target of all my anger and the cause of all my misery for months now

Because I was doing so well at Buddhism, and it all made perfect sense, but then some broad dragged me to church, and it brought back a lot of memories. I hate God so much. I don't even believe there is One except Buddha who became nothing when he entered Nirvana.

That is a question that only you can answer as I cannot peek into your mind. However, I could guess that based on your description that you are assigning the basis of your misery on the Deity.

If you hold to that belief and your fortunes reversed themselves, would that mean that you would then love God? It sounds rather conditional, wouldn't you think. Just something to ponder.

ADDENDUM: I saw your comment on Buddhism. I'm also a Buddhist, so I can empathize with your situation. I will add that pondering over the Deity's role in your life might be contributing to the misery and it best to dissociate the two. Hope that helps.

I'm an athiest. I think you're confused. If you've become a Buddhist, then maybe it's the guilt of having been brought up to believe in god that makes you feel there is a god and that you are doing the wrong thing... maybe?
If there isn't a god, you can't hate him/it... there's nothing to hate.
If your life is miserable, write down some rational reasons why and try to work on the issues.

Have you ever considered that you are believing lies. God is not the cause of your misery. Have you ever looked at satan? Remember He is like a roaring lion seeking who he can destroy. He does not want you to actually pick up a Bible and read it to find out the truth about God. God is on your side , that is why he came to earth and took our punishment so that we would not have to have the punishment that we deserve because of our sins. God makes each new day so he can have a relationship with you. He wants to be your father. He wants to show you goodness and love. Remember he died for that purpose. Look at satan. He tried to kill Jesus so he would not take our punishment. Ask God to open your eyes to the truth so that you can see the real cause of all your misery. He is waiting to hear from you, He did not even spare himself in order to love you and give you all the wonder gifts he has in store for you

Too many people blame God for their misery. I felt that way for 17 years since my father died. I blamed God. I've since learned that life is what you make of it. If your overseas I understand that your life is probably not the best. You have to make the best of a bad situation and I'm sure that's very hard right now. Maybe reading the bible or speaking with a priest, minister or whatever your 'man of god' is will help you feel better. Good luck and keep your head down!

Well, I don't think it's God you hate. How could you? Every person plays the hand their given accordingly. Some grow stronger some stay the same. I believe it's your own mindset and way of thinking that has you angry and depressed. You should look to God for strength to get you through rough times not hate "him". Try to refocus your mind and the way you have been thinking. The human mind is possibly the most harmful thing to humankind. You can be happy and content or you can be miserable and angry. It's all how you choose to perceive life.

I could tell you some of my history, and the pain and misery that I've suffered, but it's too personal for everyone to read. But I'm telling you this from my heart, I prayed and pleaded for God to help me, now every joy in my life is directly from God, he continually answers my prayers, this trouble you are going through may be directly from God, but it's sure to be for his will and your good ultimately. We only have a small piece of the puzzle,God's got the big picture, and it's beautiful. Sometimes a person needs to be tempered and chiseled, shaped in the fire or whatever that saying it. It's tough when I don't know the specifics of your situation, but I'll pray for you. It's not abnormal for anyone to feel anger, or try to stifle their anger if they feel they are suffereing unjustly. I'm going to look for a verse that I just can't recall right now, it's a shame I don't have them for memory, then I'll edit this to add it. Please keep believing and seeking.

Do you even know God? He's the cosmos LOL and people hurt him so much! I know! I'd hate him for letting people hurt him so much too, but he has to let the creation know what evil looks like so when he destroys it, we'll know it's the right thing to do. God doesn't leave you in misery. You get into misery because satan hates you. Life is a test to see who you really are! Don't be a satan (adversary). Be Responsible for your own actions!!

Why? Why? WHY?

When something goes wrong in your life - you blame God! God gives you choices and the freedom of choice - now, you just face the consequences of your actions and choices but NO - let's just blame GOD!

Tell me something? Are you alive? Are you breathing? Do you have all your limbs? Do you have enough food to eat? Do you have a roof over your head? You went to school? You can read, write and type? You obviously have access to a computer...

Seems to me that you have more than enough to be thankful for!!! But no, just becuase God doesn't give you what YOU want you are HATING him?
Sometimes you are better off without those things - I know it is hard to accept but God loves you - just like He loves me and all his other children and He only wants the best for you...

PS: What you want and what God wants for you might be 2 different things and sometimes it is hard to accept that!

so bad things happen and you blame God? come on! bad things happen to people everyday, but they don't lash out at God for their own mistakes or situations. that is called "passing the buck".when you can't see your own wrong in things, you blame someone else.
God didn't hurt you.. the world did.

I don't know where you got the idea that when you become a Christian that life is all roses and sunshine, look at his disciples, they were poor, murdered and hated for his name sake. God never promised you a bed of roses, but he did say that you would never be alone, he is right there with you through it all... and in many cases he carries you through the storms in your life.
but through these trials we do learn to be more like Christ. it teaches us long suffering and contentment.
sometimes he does take away the storms that we go through and sometimes he just holds us while the storms rage, but he never betrays us for a moment.
