Dating is personal . . . you are free to date whomever attracts you, regardless of race, creed, physical limitations, age, height, ethnicity, etc., etc. You are also free to limit your social interactions within your own race (or religion or height range), if you so choose. That is not indicative of racism. No one (including family members) should be influencing your choices. If dating leads to a closer, more permanent relationship, it is you who will be living with that person, not your critics.
As for the babblings of drunks . . . it is difficult to imagine ANYONE making their life's choices, based upon such mindless drivel.

Then that sums it up. He's a rum-dummy with a loud mouth. Dating or even marrying outside your race isn't a big deal. Who cares what other people think. If you're both happy and in love then to hell with the rest of the world.
Being a racist is either not having the understanding of WHY two people from different races would marry and have children or being vocal about it being adamnatly wrong and making disparaging comments about it.

Possibly but not definately. I grew up a long time ago when everyone was racist. Everyone stayed to their own kind and said the bible told them it should be that way.
Then the 60's came and the free love and racial boundaries blurred a bit. They seemed ok with a white guy dating a black girl much more than a black guy with a white girl. Both were bad but one was worse.
Now you would never know those days existed but some people are still racist. They raise their children and tell them how bad this kind of people are or how bad those people are until there is only one choice left (their own). Most asians will make sure their children marry asian or white. Not black or hispanic because all hispanic people are theives and drunks and all blacks are wife beaters and druggies.
so. Possibly but not definately.

My wager is that it truly is a "convenience" ingredient. in case you've been raised in a community the position there replaced into one dominant style of race, that could be what you're used to and hence discover pleasing. may be an similar as being raised with those with a particular hair colour and under no circumstances really being interested in those who do not have that hair colour. that's all on a man or woman foundation. a large type of persons are merely close minded also.

I figured you would date a person who you feel have a lot in common with, so its not racist. And its true, most people date the same race.

Some people say :"Find the right person, that's important"!!! I agree with them, but within the same race. If there isn't any, then yes, jump to the next race. That's why GOD made so many different races. Think of a child born by parents of different races. To my opinion this child is a brand new and strange race, that even GOD himself never thought of it.

some might be racist, but not all. Most people are just attracted to those of their own race. Myself included, however, I'm not exclusive. I just dated a Filipino, and right now there is a gorgeous black guy I would love to have a chat with :)

Your proberbly right, he was trying to pick a fight, prefering one's own race to date is one's own decision, just like when deciding to date outside of one's race. No it's not RACIST, i hate that word.

Yeah that guy sounds like a jerk. Ignore crap like that. It isnt racist to only date people of the same race. I am friends with people of all races but I only date white guys because they seem to have more in common with me like what they enjoy doing, music, movies, places to go hang out, their temperment, things like that.
