as a christian i too am in conflict about the necessity of killing in an armed conflict. it has been going on for centuries. what gets me the most in the middle east is the fact that both groups are descendants of the same man. abraham!!!!!! so we have family members killing each other. you can bet that the angels are crying in heaven.

There has been a war between Israel and the Arabs for a long time. Israel has had enough of these crazy Arabs blowing up innocent Israelis, so the Israelis are fightng back. All we have to do as Christians is sit back, watch, and hope the Israelis win the war, so that the Arabs don't gain power.

I don't believe that most Christians are actually supporting the war itself, wanting to support killing innocent people or those people at all in general. I believe that most Christians are just supporting the troops & praying for the people out there. I, for one, just hope that all that ends soon, so that families can be back together, I can't even begin to imagine the pain of wondering if they'll come back alive or not & then just the pain of missing them & wanting to be with them. It hurts so much to lose someone & I know a lot of people have already been lost. On either side.

Well.. lending your support is kind of a mute point, because it wont really have an impact on Israel..

But... if you look at the bigger perspective.. in the end times in the bible there is a lot of death, killing and war... some justified, some not...

You should be supporting Israel by praying for those caught in the battle that are the innocents and leave the bigger picture to God...

IN the Bible it says that we as Christians in the latter days are to bless Israel... but that doesn't mean we have to support them. My pastor was speaking of this last week.

I can bless you, with out agree with what you are doing...

There will be times when Israel will do things we wont agree with and thats fine.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE
On another note shall we not forget that Hezbollah IS terrorist group... they are killing innocent people as well, is the world suppose to let terrorism run free? Nations that attack terrorist are more harshly criticized that the terrorist group themselves!

EDIT....
Remember, Isreal is doing a better job at preventing civilain casualites, they aren't firing random dumb bombs into any area at all. Must remember Hezbollah is sitting and attack them with dumb bombs that hit any general area they are point at.

Israel is God's chosen people. You need to stand behind them because God does. The bible speaks of wars and rumors of wars in the end of times. Killing is a part of war. nations will rise up against nations the way they are doing today, right now.

Mark 13:8 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.

Today there have been things such as these. The tsunami, and the devestating hurricanes like katrina. The wars that are going on right now. What you need to do today more than ever before, is study your bible every day. Pray every day. Get yourself totally ready for the things to come, and always remember that you as a christian, are NEVER alone! Jesus is right there at your side. Jesus is returning in our life time. Prasie the Lord!!

Becasue Israel is God's chosen people, you must stand behind them. IF you go against them, You are going against God too.

Many Christians support Israel because they think the existence of Israel is a key in the second coming of Christ. They believe the Jews must control the Holy Land for Christ to return.

This seems silly to me. If we believe God has ultimate power (ie the power to create heaven and earth or destroy heaven and earth), why do we think God needs the Jews to hold Jerusalem for Christ to return. God is not restricted by who hold what mountain. God is not limited by our stupid human pettiness.

As for the conflict between Israel and Lebanon/Hezbollah, Israel has the right to defend itself. They have been hit with missiles on and off for six years. How long would some have to keep hitting you before you decided to hit back?

Sadly, this is not about land. This war is about hate. Hezbollah believes all Jews should be killed. It is kind of hard to negotiate with that mentality. It is confusing, and I don't think there is a good answer to this not millennium old conflict between.

Go for the Bible rather than what others say. God hates wars. Actually, He didn't let David to build the Temple for Him, because David had killed too many men. It is His children who are fighting out there. Am running out of time, but if the question keeps open I could give you some Bible verses about it later. Also, if you want to tell me something through an e-mail, I'd be glad to receive it.

God bless you!

If we bless Israel then we will be blessed as a nation. We are to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Murder is wrong. This is different than war and killing. If you study the Old Testament, you will find out the differences and reasons.
