Interesting, you are asking people to give you advise to do something illegal openly on the internet.

Surely there are some ways to get software without paying for it, but then even wanting to get the "service" patches illigally, sounds really brave.

Linux (SUSE) might be really the better way for you, there are free versions availabe and it is also not as vulnerable as MS, therefore not that many security patches to constantly apply.

Well, first off somone posting an anonymous crack or an offer to help you crack it should be suspect right off the bat.

The updates are available for download from Microsoft, if you know where to find them on thier site, without using the automatic updates feature.

But this is a pain to do so, even for people with legal copies.

The other concern with applying these patches, are that they might break your illegal copy, depending on what makes it illegal, if you have applied a crack, or some program to make it work, then the patches can possibly make your computer stop working, or even make it not boot up at all.

Your best bet is to get a legal copy and install that on the computer, which might mean formatting and reinstalling everything on it.

Which means backing up all of your data before you try to put any patches on it as well, so just in case you break something, you will at least have your data saved off of the computer.

Or like the one post stated, Linux is a very VIABLE alternative to windows, and should be a consideration as well, if you dont want to pay someone for the software. You will have issues with getting support for the free versions, but it is possible to find and the patches for it will be easily found as well.

And Suse is a GOOD place to start to help get one more Windoze box off of the internet!

I think that depends upon what version of Windows you have. If it's NT, it's no longer supported. If it's 2000, I don't think they can track it effectively. If it's XP, you're out of luck, or you have to get someone to download the individual patch (not via automatic updates) and copy them to CD for you.
Have you considered opensuse.org - it's Novell's SUSE Linux package - free to download, and use. Includes patch software like Automatic Updates.

yes, very simple. Just stop using pirated software and go buy a genuine copy of Windows!

Second option, would be to hack into Microsofts Update servers and download them.
