Would you make it hard for her to forget you if you care about the girl?

I think you should probably give her space. Doing things that will make her "remember you" now will probably only damage the relationship further. She'll remember you alright - but for the wrong reasons.
Be cool... if she comes back, treat her with respect.

If she's saying she wants to forget you to make it easier on her, she's making it SOUND like she's going to be broken up over it -- as in your feelings don't really matter. This way you can't tell her how hard it is on you because she doesn't want to hear that. It's all about her, ya know!!!

I would move on and get involved in other activities that you like. Ask your friends to introduce you to some new girls, too.
