Why do Muslim(extremist) attack the civilians?

I guess Iknow the answer but what do you think. Most of these fighters are chickenshits and know for a fact that taking on a US Soldier would offer certain death. Even when a soldier kills an insurgent that just got done firing on our troops 24 hours earlier and happens to have a camera they say we were wrong. Thats cause of the Liberals and there pansy ways. I say put Micheal Moore and the rest of the wuusies on a plane full of extremist for a flight and see if their attitude changes,

Modern warfare has evolved quite a bit. Comparing war now to WWII would be like comparing WWII to the US Civil War--completely different tactics and strategies.

Ever heard of "asymmetric warfare?" Without getting all complex, it basically boils down to getting the biggest bang for your buck--creating the biggest impact on the enemy while risking or expending the least amount of resources and personnel. Why send an entire battalion of Soldiers to secure an objective when a small team of SF guys can convince the local warlord to do it for you?

When it comes to terrorists or guerilla fighters, they know they can't hope to stand up to the military might of the US. It's basically suicidal. Now they talk a big game about being proud martyrs in the battle for Islamo-fascism, but in reality, they don't want to die much more than we do. So they go after "soft targets" such as civilians and saw their heads off or blow up their airplanes or whatever. This is great for headlines, especially for the types of ignorant savages that gravitate to terrorists groups, and oddly enough, when they perceive themselves as becoming a more powerful group, often they do!

These tactics might have no military value, but they cannot go unanswered because the military's role is to protect civilians. This means the miiltary essentially gets tied up in chasing terrorists when they could be doing better things like training the Iraqi Army and police to take over their own country.

Sun Tzu actually said this a couple thousand years ago:

Israel killed over 1000 lebanese civilians mostly through are raids in a month and the US killed over 60000 iraqis in 3 years. Compare that o what terrorists do. Israelis are the wussies in lebanon because they bombed through planes so they wont be in range of hizballah fighters. They only went into lebanon after bombing most of the south of lebanon and they still have heavy losses. Hizballah killed nearl 40 civilians and 80 sildiers compared to nearly 30 lebanese soldiers and nearly 66 to 100 hizballah fighters and at least 1000 civillians. Why do zionists and americans attack civilians? I could say israel is using civilians as human shields since they have them so close to the border and they have military bases there.

I think terrorist are not afraid to die, so they don't care to take on US Soldier. Their meaning is (I think) to do more damage unsuspectingly. I think they know that they are in advantage because you cannot fight against terrorism.

Maybe Muslim attack civilians because they fell that the whole country is enemy. This is wrong, but we should start resolving problems in Middle East, give to Palestine their country. I don't know what Bush and Blair are waiting? Than we can see what happens. Will be peace or not?

Lemme see if I can put this into words. They attack civilians using terrorist techniques. If they manage to kill a few, that's good. If they can make the rest of us fear-that's even better. They also know that our government isn't going to employ the same techniques to fight them, so eventually us civilians (sheep) will loose all faith in our government's ability to protect us, and we will do what all herd animals do-panic and eventually rise up against the "shepherd" (the government.)

Also, they do it because we are the infidels. Their holy book tells them to convert us, enslave us, or kill us.

Muslim countries official armies are same as of Lebanon. Now when true muslims see that innocent people are killed by infidels of USA and Israel using fighter jets and tanks, so they also fight back using the tactics that is accessible to them.

So I guess when you are supressed by people who are more powerful than you, then you retaliate using whatever way that is possible for you.

It is the same as when fighter planes and loaded army of US pound the homes of innocent people in Iraq, Afghanistan and the same is done by Israel in Lebanon, they act this way. 101% legitimate!

Because their goal is to sow terror, hence the name "terrorist". Guerilla fighters target soft military targets attacking them and then quickly disappearing back into hiding. Terrorist want to disrupt society and frighten people into forcing their government to give in to the terrorist demans. The Madrid bombing in Spain for example is a classic case.
