I brown my meat beef or chicken with garlic, then onions or leeks sometimes both, put into my dish, add salt, pepper, mixed herbs and a good dollop of tomato ketchup, add carrots cut chunky style and any veg in season that I feel like adding. I put a tin of tomatoes and a tin of cream of tomato soup, if it still needs more liquid I add either water or stock. Then cook for 1½ - 2 hours and use gravy granules to thicken at the end (we like ours really thick) I serve either boiled new potatoes or mashed potato with spring onion. Lovely!

Lamb shanks with water or stock into slo cooker add garlic and rosemary. Go down the pub - leave to cook on low for about 6-8 hours. Put some potatoes in to roast and put the shanks in the oven for about the last 20 minutes to crisp up the skin. The stock makes a lovely gravy with some cornflour added and the meat quite literally falls of the bones.
