When will the oil reservs finish on earth?

The current rate of consumption is increasing exponentially! I don't think anybody believes that 2050 is realistic, but I would expect the price oil to increase until a sustainable level of consumption is acheived.

The world is not going to run out of oil in 2050. There are vast reserves of shale oil in CO/UT/WY. There is more oil in these shale deposits than in all of the middle east combined. The problem to date is that it is very expensive to extract. As oil becomes more scarce, it will become much more expensive.

We need to move away from the oil economy anyway because we need to eliminate CO2 gas emission.

We will never pump the last drop because it will not be to our advantage. It is already starting to run short so the price is increasing. The price increases will continue until alternatives are cheaper, this will happen before we run out.

Look to history, hunting whales for their oil drove them to the edge of extinction but as whale oil became expensive other alternatives were more attractive. So people stopped hunting whales in large quantities.

I've seen in CNN I think , if I remember it correctly... US oil supply peak was in 1970? and the middle east supply will peak in 2044. Then it's downhill from there.

it depends on how people abuse it.... if people will only use oil occasionally then oil reserves will not run out easily... but if the oil is abuse and all people use it..... maybe next week it is finish!

in 2050 it will be finished, we would see if we will not be killed by the 3rd world war(or may be the 276th petrol attack of US/UK/Israel).
