It may take a day or two. The main thing is to make the kitten feel safe and secure. Cuddle it and talk to to it. This helps it get use to the sound of your voice and and your scent. Plus get down on all fours and look around for hidey spots. That way when you can't find him you know where to look. Also if possible take a towel or a soft shirt and wipe it over the mother. This will also help.
Hope this helps ya.

When my kitten arrived in his new home, he was 2 month old, and was crying and looking for his brother. The first 2 days, he was disoriented, but I gave him kitty milk, and lot of affections, and then he bacame curious and explore his new world. In less than one week he was adjusted to my appartment.

i had gotten a kitty on saturday and he was happy that day, playing and sleeping in our bed, it depends on the kitty and the environment it came from, if he came from a shelter with no human contact, it will take alot long then coming from a foster home and a home where mommy and siblings are at. Just give them all time, comfort him and he'll come around as if nothing every happened

Don't worry kittens adjust very fast to their new homes and owners. It will take about a day, day and a half.
