Actually, Native Americans call themselves for the most part American Indians or just Indians. And they do celebrate Thanksgiving- do they think of the past when they do? You know what, I think Indians have a brilliant sense of humor and sometimes they laugh about it- perhaps half serious? I don't know but it's a way of coping with the past and my friends and family are fantastic. I have celebrated a number of Thanksgivings on reservations. However, Columbus day- is that celebrated? Not at least on the Quinault Reservation and a lot of Blackfeet from Montana do not celebrate that (I have ties to both reservations). Perhaps you can go to a reservation one day and discuss that with them or on an american indian/native american website.
From my experience, the horrible past seems to be one of the first thing outsiders from reservations want to discuss. and I'm sure they will share their thoughts with you but for the most part, they don't dwell on it daily and just go on with their lives.

It is true that some tribes of native americans befriended and traded with the immigrants, but it is also true that many tribes were murdering bastards just like the incoming europeans. It is a fallacy to think that all native american people were peaceloving ghandis that sat around the campfire smoking the peacepipe. In those days the pilgrims were the terrorists invading their country. So its no surprise really that a people who invaded a country for its resources haven't really changed their global philosophy.

The Pilgrims didn't kill the Indians. The brought diseases that the Indians weren't immune to. Those who followed, did kill them by giving them blankets used by people who had the chicken Pox.
