The police have never caught anyone responsible for vandalism and theft in my neighborhood. It actually seems as though they can't be bothered. What, do you have to murder someone to get the police to listen to you? No problem pulling me over for a speeding ticket, but that guy who just blasted through a red light is in the good? I know they have a difficult job to do, and it's not one I would want (then again, as a teacher, not many people would want my job, either), but they should do it, by criminy!

I have a tendency to discover that persons who don't love the police are those which have stepped into the incorrect area of the regulation and positively 'did the crime yet couldn't do the time' or those that were victims of crime yet did not sense justice replaced into served in thier favour... nicely in case you've been stuck doing something you we are meant to then i'm sorry yet I actually have little sympathy... As for the latter, in case you sense that justice wasn't carried out then blame the CPS or the courts... once the Police have made the arrest and sumitted the paper artwork, that's out of our palms!!

Your story is one that anyone who phones the police will be only too familiar with. I phoned 999 last week. I was put through to a regional centre 50 miles away, they then passed me on to another local centre 25 miles away. I then waited for 18 minutes for an answer. When I got through she said she would pass it to control. Oh by the way that was the first place 50 miles away. Local bobby in each area. He/she will get to know everyone like the old days. Give him a bike and the ability to kick a**e and watch the situation change. Too much paperwork and sitting in cars, not a lot of ear to the ground good police work.

That's interesting. I know of a guy who's currently doing time for exactly the same crime. The police took the matter very seriously because a) he shouldn't have possessed the firearm in the first place and b) he was using it in a residential area. Where do you live? I'm surprised the matter wasn't taken further.

You seem to have had a lot of bad experiences with the Police fella. How do you know they never came out? As with most forces their firearms units have plain vehicles and most of the local Police Officers wouldn't see them driving around let alone members of public. If you've a proper complaint, ask to speak to your local Inspector of Chief Inspector. Otherwise, stop moaning.

It would not be correct to say that the police are useless. Having said that it would be correct to say that there are some useless police officers. At one time the police force consisted of men with a few women police to deal with juveniles, searching women suspects etc. There was also a high physical standard to be reached and policemen had to be a certain height. Now,because of political correctness a large proportion of the police are women who haven't got the physical ability to do the job. Also because small women are able to become police officers they have had to allow small men into the force. You have also got the issues of promotion. I know of men, who were xcellent police officers who were turned down for promotion in favour of women, to keep the numbers level.

No disrespect intended, but it sounds like there's more to this story than appears above. One would need to know more to give a competent opinion.
