SUPPOSE
A=B=1 ( ALL HAVE SAME VALUE )

A=B

AB=BB (OR B SQUARE )-----MULTIPLY BOTH SIDES BY B

AB-AA=BB-AA ( ie., MINUS AA FROM BOTH SIDES )

A(B-A)=(B+A)(B-A) -----TAKE a COMMON & USE FORMULA FOR B SQUARE MINUS A SQUARE - SIMPLE MATHS

A=(B+A) -------- CANCEL (B-A) FROM BOTH SIDES- SIMPLE

1=1+1 --------- SUBSTITUTE THE VALUE

1=2 -------- SIMPLE MATHS

NOW HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE

Easy!
You can't cancel (B-A) from both sides because numbers can't be divided by 0 (B=A=1)

All the math was executed correctly, but the problem is saying that A=B=1.
Substitute in 1 for each step:
1=1 (true)
1*1=1*1 (=1, true)
(1*1) - (1*1) = (1*1) - (1*1) (=0, true)
1(1-1) = (1+1) (1-1) (still = 0, true)
1 = (1+1) NOT TRUE

I don't think it will work with any other number because no other number squared is itself.

TGIFFF!

But in the 4th step, ( -A both sides), if u subtract A the answer becomes 0, then how did u solve it further.

Its wrongly calculated as in AB-AA=BB-AA the answer becomes 0 so how can you get a common no. from that .

well... when u subtract A frm B u get 0 and then when u cancel the (B-A)s u are actually dividing 0 by 0 which is undefined and therefore the proof is flawed ;)

This step is not possible...you can't divide by zero. Almost convincing though...
