I am mexican, so I suppose that that'd make me brown. Since logically I am not an English foe, I am relieved. You people are nice chaps.

Funny question, but it does kind of make you think. Maybe it's left over from the Russians--the "Reds"--being the US's primary enemy. But then again, I'll bet you a lot of other countries would call the enemy "red forces" or whatever. I'll be the real answer is the one already stated. Red is a color that catches the eye and urges caution or danger. Blue is calm and soothing and speaks of safety.

Blue and red are primary colours. They are often associated as being male and female colours. When I play war games on my computer, there are many more armies than just two.

I guess we are blue if we are born blue, and we are red if we are born red. That means by location, or by political stance.

Some people are yellow, but the primary thrust of most disagreements are between blue and red. Yellow is usually an independent observer of the Geneva convention.

Well, red is the color of blood, and so has always symbolized danger at the primitive subconscious level. That's why people who drive red cars pay more in insurance than those with other color cars...the perception of danger and the thrill of the race. Maybe it was the Republicans who decided the color scheme of red states and blue states? :)

Probably because they are easy colours to distinguish from each other, completely different, and will always stand out from the background of the map which is likely to be browns/greens/greys I expect. I don't know for sure, but that is what my logic is telling me.

The color blue is more powerful than the color red. On the elctromagnetic spectrum, blue light has more energy than does red light.

Blue is friendly troops.
Red is enemy troops.
Green is neutral or unknown troops.
That is standard in almost every country, so why change that?
