What if the perpetrator of that crime, which you witness, regularly hangs out with other neighborhood folks and a neighbor that lives next door to you?

Would you keep your mouth shut in fear of retaliation that could harm you and your family?

These are unfortunately young black men, in their early 20’s, who hang out all day and night leaving one to wonder if they have or go to jobs.

I'm 100% about my neighborhood. These fools even shot a gun once and I was working at home when it happen. I mean it saddens that this is in the same area I grew up, but it don't excuse people from doing wrong to each other. Forget about "the man" doing us in, we do it too ourselves.

I witness the crime with my two eyes in broad daylight.

It's pretty to say that since then, I don't go out of my house after sunset.

I try to avoid any eye contact with dude.

I don't know if he's in a gang but I'm just scare his friends would want to hurt me if I got him arrested. Worst, I tell my family to stay away, even though I only told my cousin about the incident. I just get so shook up talking about it.

I'm scared sh*tless!

I already filed a police report, but I only give the officer his physical description but I also gave information that he's a regualr at my next door neighbor's house. The cop said I could call the police and while the police detains him, I could get a bench warrant. But still I'm torn because fool should go to jail for what he did but I don't if I'm putting myself in jeporady if I follow up on the report.

I don't want to move becuase I work too hard to buy my home and take care of it and it's my pride and joy.

Yes I would. But I would have to very, very positive to have no qualms that what I witnessed was an actual crime being committed while I watched (not hearsay from a neighbor) and that I was positive of who I would be telling the police was the perpertrator and have to be willing to testify in court with no doubts in my mind. I would not report a crime unless I felt totally confident about my testimony. Whether it's my next-door neighbor, or his friend, or a stranger nearby, whatever. I found it interesting that you made a mention that you are talking about young black men in their early 20's who hang out all day and night, apparently without jobs. I am still young (but not in my 20's anymore) and to some people it might seem suspicious that I'm able to live where I do and still hang out all day and night and have no children to raise either. So does my husband. We are not party animals or cause any problems or make noise, but to an outsider it would seem to be something to think about and come up with a negative conclusion and I'm sure some neighbors do wonder. But I feel no need to ever explain to anyone other than one person here exactly what the reasons are and that is the man who we pay our rent to. We are legitamite citizens who have legitimate incomes and pay our taxes and obey the law. What I'm saying is you can't, and shouldn't, judge a book by its cover--even when it looks like it couldn't be anything else. If you are 100% certain about this neighborhood crime (did you witness it personally) and can give a clear police report of the facts then go for it. It just sounds to me that these young men that hang out in the neighborhood are not liked by other residents and it bothers and scares them that they're black and appear to be unemployed. Do they look like gang members? Because gang-bangers will hang out in a neighborhood, even live there, and commit crimes there and intimidate residents. It would be kind of out of the norm if they live outside your neighborhood but visit regularly then commit a crime there, and continue to come back and hang out. You didn't say you actually witnessed a crime in your neighborhood, only that you witness the alleged perpetrator regularly hanging out with other neighbors. I would say call the police and make a report, but be absolutely certain of what you are saying. If you're not and you call the police, then you really will have something to worry about.

I would and have reported such crimes. But the family part is not an issue as I live alone.

As far as retaliation.........I have a response to that. It comes in a 185 grain semi jacketed hollow point package from my 45...............

Its against policy to arrest black men. That might be racist. I'd get a shotgun and pepper the black motherfuckkers.
