I am not sure about that, but since he was just a man, it is possible that he did suffer a stroke. I was told that he was an alcoholic and a sci-fi writer too. What is so special about that? I think Tom Cruise has done more harm to Scientology by being so closed minded and a seemingly fanatic, that if I were him, I would not be publicly speaking about women's problems, anti-depression meds, etc. He won't let people see his new little baby girl now. He is nuts, and so is that goofy religion. Run Katie, Run.
