It's your choice if you are a consenting adult. You don't need to have had babies but they might try to talk you out of it if you haven't had any.

Get an IUD- it is as effective as litigation, and it allows you to change your mind without paying a lot of money for reversal. Or, have your man fixed- it's cheaper, easier to reverse, and you if you are not sure if you want more kids, you can freeze sperm before you do it.
I would not recommend litigation.
If you think litigation is the only way to go t's usually 25 and no children, or 23 if you've had children, However, there's some doctors who refuse to do it on women under 35, if they have less than 3 kids.

I was told you had to either be:
25
or
have three kids.
I had my tubes tied at the age of 24 after the birth of my fifth child.

I was 27 years old having my third child and I had to beg them, that was 16 years ago. I also had to sign a release form and they would not cauterize them, only tie them. Good Luck, if you really want this done keep the pressure on the doctor.

My doctor won't let women get their tubes tied until they're:
25 with no kids
23 with 2 kids (unmarried)
21 with 3 kids and married

If your twenty one and want your tubes tied they are suppose to do it. But some dr's wont do it for different reason. I'm just glad that my dr said that if i wanted to when i turn 21 *next year* I can get them tied. Number of kids doesnt really matter but the more kids you have the more likely your dr will do it.

Just make sure u really want it done first . I had mine done. I have 4 kids then my partner died. Now i am with my future husband and we desperatly want another child, now we have to go through IVF cause my tubes had pieces cut ot of them. If there is a possiblity that u will want more kids in the future make sure they are clipped.. not cut.

It differs. I was 28 when I considered it but my doctor advised me against it. His reasons were that what if your husband wants more children, what if you separate and get another husband who wants at least one child. What if you lose the kids e.t.c. He later said I should go back to him after 5 years. Am still waiting.

Perhaps you should first discuss it with your partner and your doctor.

in my state you have to be 21 years old or have at lest 4 kids before they will tie your tubs only if Medicaid is paying for it but if you are paying for it then it don't matter the age or the # of kids you have.

I had mine done when my youngest of 2 was 6 months old.
