those are called Café Au Lait Spots , you need to take her to a dermatologist , i think you are alowed to have up to 3 , if you have more than 3 Café Au Lait Spots will need to test her for McCune-Albright syndrome, tuberous sclerosis, and Fanconi anemia.....These are underlaying medical problems that cause Café Au Lait Spots , Please remember you can have a few Café Au Lait Spots but more than 3 she needs to get tested , i have 5 and had to go through the tests and i'm perfectly fine , but i sleep better at night knowing i was tested ...

Sadly you haven't given enough information about where you live, amount of sunlight, drugs she may be taking and other factors that could influence color change. Yes, certain pigments as melanin will darken skin but there can be other causes related to diet, etc. One of my patients developed a rather pronounced yellow discoloration of his entire body, and I hospitalized him as possible hepatitis...test after test were negative until I finally proved that it stemmed from him eating papaya every day.
