The only time that violence would TOTALLY solve our problems is when nothing is left to kill. Right now, they've yet to get that far, but they've still gained our attention. For me, I don't believe I could sacrifice those lives in order to prove a point that they deeply believe in. However, the more we understand the history of this region, the more it makes sense that a group of individuals would participate in such an act. Civilization as we know it essential was born there. There is strong bond between the individuals identity and its culture, which is becoming less and less homogenious. The increased loss of identity and suppression of their culture via the adoption of other societies cultures like the US, in their eyes has cornered them against the wall.
Their response, in order to achieve a movement for change is to retaliate and kill. This has been going on for thousands of years in this region. Most of us don't realize this or are too ingorant of it. To say that Christianity wasn't involved in it is bologna, it was called the Crusades and the actions from the Knights Templar. Is this justified, I personally think that depends on it's ability to resolve a problem and provide a model on which goodness for humanity can thrive upon.
Though this has been on way before my time, there is much too many things to consider to accurately say if these acts of terrosim are bringing the change we need as a human race to flourish.

A just cause is a moral or ethical consideration. I have a hard time understanding how any just cause justifies killing others. If you truly believe Israel is the root of all this evil you are terribly ignorant of world history over the last 100 years.
