You need to stop and think does my question make sense. Obviously there's a reason why they are doing all this and we don't know all the facts. Obviously they have to be strict,to ensure that the terrorists get caught and no-one gets blown up. I understand peoples frustration but isn't it better to be safe than sorry ? Would you rather get blown up on a plane or wait at an airport overnight, I know which one I'd choose. And to answer your question no I dont think they are being strict enough, because terrorits are smart, and the police are doing what they doing to ensure that we are safe, so I think people like you are very ungrateful. I mean imagine if they werent this strict it could have been another 9/11

It's not the water I'm worried about, although that is a pain considering the tiny cups you get of drinks on board. What worries me is the other liquid, lotion, gel products that can't be taken on-board. That means when I have a three day business trip, I can no longer get by with just my carry-on because now I must check a bag for my toiletries, perfume and makeup. If you have had the airlines lose your checked baggage or had items stolen or damaged which were checked, you would understand why those folks try to take as much as they do on carry on. And if the U.S. extends the security measures to include electronics or to ban all carry on baggage, that will be the day I stop flying. There is no way I am putting my laptop, cell phone, digital camera and GPS in a checked bag so it can get stolen or damaged. And if I don't have a book to read during long layovers and flights, there is going to be one bored, frustrated, angry traveler added to the mix!

Its a bit inconvenient, yes. But from a point of view of security? I think its perfectly OK.
I also hear that they will ban all carry-on hand luaggage permanently. Being a frequent traveler, I am not at all against this idea either. It is a good security measure, plus it would do away with having to fight for overhead compartment space. Often I am faced with this problem on International flights where there is a limit on the check-in baggage allowance. So the "inconsiderate" passengers, who are too lazy to travel light, and too cheap to pay the excess baggage charges, will bring these ridiculously oversized and heavy flight bags on-board as hand-luggage. Then they will stuff them in the overhead compartments. I hate that because its not fair to the passangers like us who still have to fight for space for our tiny little briefcases on board. I will be happy to see these people being forced to check in their luggage and travel light, like the rest of us.
The only negative to these new rules (which sorta pisses me off, being a drinking man that I am), you can not bring on board, any duty-free liquer. Damn it!

Think of the "up" side. With passenges consuming less liquids the lines to use the washrooms should be that much shorter!
If you object, stay home!
