They say 'familiarity breeds contempt'... but personally I think it could be life experience - you live a separate day life, meet your separate people, and usually the biggest life problems are at home - buying a house, having children, family, money - the problems cause stress.... and basically all of that takes precedence over the 'us' part. General life coping tends to sap all energy you might have invested in your partner.... life basically happens. And I guess you either actively shut down from your partner because they represent all the personal stuff you need to get sorted that's just too hard.... or maybe your partner isn't making the right kind of effort with you and isn't growing with you... and slowly you lose your commonality. I don't know, I just wish there was a manual.

Most people lose interest in anything that becomes routine...even a spouse/partner. It's human nature.
Relationships are not self-propelled. Like anything else...a car..a house...they need regular maintenance.
Folks don't like being bored. Getting un-bored is a lot of work. For many people, it's easier to blame another person for your boredom than it is to take action to bring some regular new excitement into the relationship.
A great quote from the Stephen King novel "The Storm of the Century" is when the devil says "Because that's what Hell is all about...repetition."

they don't love them as much as they thought they would and also they are getting bored of the same person. If they lost interest then it should have happen quickly in the relationship if a couple does numerous things to see how the other is like when doing a particular thing.

Sometimes people treat love as hunting. The main thing is to get the prey and achive what you want, after that they settle down because there's nothing else to strive to. I think it's better to treat love as a tree. That means you have to nurture it, take care of it and see future growth. If people forget to nurish it, it dies away. Constant development is another requirement for love to last.

This is because they misguide themself. they misunderstand their attraction or crush as their love. where there is love, there is no ways to lose interest. be sure before getting into relationship. losing interest in their partner make them to ditch their partner.ditching is not good thing.

If married- its because the interest fades as you stay long together and all are opened up.
If lovers- its because both knows their in and out.
to prevent- try new ways of living, modify lifestyle and go on mind cooling vacations!

Lack of communication. They quit sharing their day to day lives with each other. Quit sharing their hopes and dreams, and grow in different directions.

if one takes the other 4 granted then that is the result!!
if one is slightly envious of the other it spices up things but that is not enough;interest from both sides is a must!!!
