I get shakiness and tearfulness every morning and generally look very down. I find this 'lifts' lunchtime-ish (albeit moderately). Does anyone have any tips/ideas how to get this awful feeling 'lifted'? I'm currently on no medication. Thank you.

yes. you may be suffering from what the DSM (ask your doctor) calls, "melancholy" (i am totally serious). it's a depression/anxiety that tends to strike in the morning. see a doctor.

Do not get put on medication for your problem, simply get a job on the night time shifts and your problem is solved ! I too dread the mornings and would cry and get anxious, now I work the graveyard shift at the hospital, I wake up and get ready for work at 10:00 pm, go to work at 11:00 pm, work until 7:00 am, then go home to my best friend "BED" and sleep the crappy morning and afternoon away. When the moon comes up, so do I.

I had that every morning too. But I started a new career and it is gone. I think I hated my job even more than I thought!

Maybe if you just commit going for a walk outside as soon as you hop out of bed....before you do anything else. 45 minute walk. Endorphines are the best medicine for moods. It will take a few mornings of doing this to feel the effect. Just do it.

I had this morning anxiety. It was due to the reason that i didn't know what the day will be and of course it was due to some sort of fear! The moment when i began to plan for the foll. day before going to bed , just telling myself that the next day is going 2 be a wonderful day where I'm going to have new experiences and learn new stuffs(even failure, disappointements are experiences to learn), the morning anxiety changed into expectation and eagerness for the day to dawn quickly (like a child waits for the XMAS presents). Try this ,it worked for me ,I'm sure it can change your morning anxiety!

I happened to me last year and I had to change my job. It was quite hard but now I wake-up every morning more relaxed. I still thanks the day I decided to do it!
