i don't know. how will you?

a very high fever, above 102 F, i'm gonna say, should be treated with cold packs, cold drinks, cold baths, and a trip to the doctor (perhaps the emergency room, depending on the time). fevers higher than this are VERY DANGEROUS. most over the counter pain relievers (tylenol, aspirin, whatever - it'll say on the package) reduce fever, too, but don't exceed the recommended dosage. ten aspirin is NOT better than two (or even less than two, if a child).

okey...first reduce on the height...pass them a ladder or something.....anway if it is a child <5yrs bring down that fever FAST u dont want to have the child convulse on you...so strip the child and do tepid sponging....warm water-remeber latent heat of vaporization. then give first dose of paracetamol...NSAID has better anitpyretic properties than analgesia....monitror for 30 min....continue tepid sponging...if child convulses give diazepam-rectal,im,iv,NGT whichever way......do labs to find out the sucker thats bothering this little fellow. Above 5yrs chances of convulsion low..follow step ladder protocal.......blah blah blah.....do not smear the patient with chicken **** or anyother vodoo crap coz the hypothalamus is flooded with pyrogens and u have to inhibit the enzymes at the COX level....

Please tell me that you are not a doctor. If you are, I strongly suggest that you consider going back to medical school.
