Why do people who have a problem with saying "God" say "G-d"?

The word "God" is a series of characters representing the idea of a supernatural being. The series of characters "G-d" are also representing the same idea...
What's up with people?

Lol... I had trouble finding the religion section to catagorize this in... wouldn't it be ironic if it was a subgroup of politics and givernment?

The Jewish name of God was prohibited from being pronounced by anyone except the high priest and then only once a year within the Holy of Holies. I think it's only the Jewish who do that. They are forbidden to speak the Name of God. So they put the dash in place of the 'o'...

I think people are afraid of the word God, the reason why they say G-d. i think they are afraid cause they are sinned badly and afraid of the punishment of the afterlife. Imagine how they say G-d irl. G hypen D for God perhaps.
