A person doesn't need a diet, per se, to lose weight in the sense of going on Atkins or the cabbage soup diet or whatever. Basically, watching what she eats and making healthier choices can help immensely. For example, she can make healthier choices like salad or a sandwich to bring to school rather than buy a hot lunch, which in school tend to not be very healthy. She can do little things like drink more water and less sugary drinks like juice, soda, and even sports drinks. Avoid junky snacks like chips and cookies and pick fruits and veggies instead.
Now, these things cannot be eliminated entirely from a diet because, frankly, we'd all go a little nuts if we could not give in to our cravings once in a while. It's better to have a handful of chips every so often than to deny and deny and deny yourself and binge on an entire bag in one sitting.
The basic idea is to cut the "junk" out of everyday eating. The occasional goody is ok, but it should not be an all the time thing. And exercise is important, and it sounds like she keeps fairly active.

Her thighs are probably big because of all the leg-work she does with both activities you mentioned.
Yes, this is very normal for girls her age. Don't let her feel bad about herself.
My daughter was like this at the same age, and I couldn't stand how she felt about herself because of the teasing she would get from others at school.
She's nineteen now and has a perfect body and her habits haven't really changed all that much.
Your niece should definitely eat well, but NO DIET!!! But do try to cut out the junk food, which is not good for you at any age. And make sure she drinks plenty of water.
Abdominal crunches might help a little, but again, it is VERY common for girls to get a little flabby around the tummy at this age...it has to do with the hormonal changes a girl goes through at this time.
I am so tired of the image our society has inculcated into young women of what they should look like at any age, especially this young. We all need to work hard to put a stop to this.

Good carbs like celery and carrots will never make you fat. Bad carbs like cake will, but you don't need to know the whole science of glycemic index and load. It is mostly NOT your fault, if you need to lose weight. The way we have been taught to eat is responsible for making obesity the number one health problem in the world (according to Atlantic Monthly magazine) replacing hunger and infectious disease. You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin. Not a diet, but diet lifestyle.
Find out about fastest way to lose weight, gradual ways to lose weight, most effective exercise, good and bad carbs and anti-water. Lose bodyfat and retained water which also makes you a lot fatter (bloated). Links page has gov. BMI calculater to find out just how much overweight you are. Most important-- make sure to read the last "fat loss tip", first before anything else, to see the number one food that causes Americans to be fat.

Definatly cut back on junk food and such. A good diet, just straight out good foods, no junk food, works wonders. And go for a walk with her every couple of days. Just a walk to the park, or to the movies. Just a short walk, say, a mile or so. Then as you guys walk around more, choose some further away location, a location she would normally be driven to, but this time have her walk. Always have someone walk with her, keeps her motivated.

hunh. equestrianism and soccer are demanding sports - are you sure it's not extra MUSCLE she has? both sports build up the legs, significantly. maybe another day of soccer, for the supposed stomach flab, unless she's not really putting her heart into the sports. if i did that much activity, i'd be adonis! eliminating all soda, if she drinks it, might help. if she drinks sports drinks, she should avoid those with high fructose corn syrup (in fact, she - and everyone - should avoid everything with it). if she eats a lot of junk food, she should cut down. that's about it. i can't believe this girl is fat!

From what you've stated it style of sounds like it would not be a foul element of be with her. for sure human beings would imagine issues so for you to put up with comments and such (human beings will be very immature and nasty, fantastically as a teenager) yet in case you sense you're able to manage it and it would not effect your emotions for make you sense down then you definately could bypass for it. imagine about it, in 10 years you'd be 29 and he or she will be in a position to be 23, that's really no longer as undesirable because evidently at the same time as you're youthful. i recognize a pair that are 10 years aside and it doen't substitute something or seems incorrect as they're older. i imagine you should have a take a seat with her and really deeply imagine about it in the previous you do do something besides the undeniable fact that and in case you finally end up being at the same time then do not rush into something. Take issues really really slowly. If issues did end badly you're able to finally end up in problem. provide it some more effective weeks, make confident you really recognize and prefer her and then i imagine you could take issues further in case you sense like that's the right element of do. And in case you do make tyhe selection to be at the same time ignore about stupid comments because you be being smart about it and also you'll recognize that's what you go with. desire this facilitates. reliable success. :)

tell her to stop riding horses, all that does is re-enforce the muscle around the buttocks, it doesn't make you loose weight, start walking and keep walking 6 miles a day everyday and she'll soon loose it all...
