It was true... Jesus, the New Covenant
He did not come to abolish the law but to fulfill it. He came to make all things new. Judaism was to evolve into Christianity but some refused to go with it. Jesus stopped when he arrived at Jerusalem that last Holy Week for him and wept while looking at the city. He predicted the city would be destroyed; as it was 40 years later by the Roman Army in 70 A.D., because the people "did not recognize the time of their visitation".... they refused to accept He was who He told them He was.
Jesus is the way to salvation for all men for all time, Christian Gentiles grafted into the vine and the Jewish Messiah they refuse to acknowledge (not all) but their scriptures (Old Testament) tell them about.
The Old Testament is loaded with prophecies of the Messiah and Jesus Christ met every one of them without exception. Yet the Jews embracing Judaism still refuse to accept Him. Just as their ancestors, the Sanhedren did.

Yes, the way the whole Bible talks about Jesus is awesome! In the Old Testament we see prophecies and symbols about the Messiah (just look at the Sanctuary and sacrifices to see how it perfectly fits the role of the Messiah, besides the many prophecies). And in the New Testament it tells us how the life of Christ and what He's done for us give us salvation.
Actually, the word "Christ" is the Greek word for Messiah, which finally means "Anointed". Isaiah predicted the role and life of Christ, but also a prophecy about the time the Messiah would start His ministry on earth was given to Daniel. Daniel 9 states that the Messiah would be born "69 weeks" or 483 years after the issuing decree given by Medio Persia to restore Jerusalem, and before 70 AD. Christ's birthplace was foretold in Micah 5:2. He would be born from a virgin (Isaiah 7:14), would die by crucifixion (Psalm 22) and be buried in a tomb owned by a rich man (Isaiah 53:9).
It's amazing the perfect harmony of the Bible and how its prophecies are being fulfilled perfectly, including those related to the first and second coming of the Christ.
Good commentary, my friend. Thanks for sharing what you're discovering in the Bible, and let us keep studying every day because there's a lot more to learn about our Saviour. God bless you!

I am a jew an I do not think Isaiah lied, but I do think he didn't predict Jesus as the messiah. Oh and he doesn't nessisarily say he was born from a virgin I think that was a mistranslation. I think there are a bunch of other criterion that jesus didn't fulfill.
I don't really think it matters to me even if he was the messiah. I as a jew am still obligated to follow all the comandments of the Torah. (There is a Idea in the oral law that says that the torah trumps everything even a voice from hevean). Plus I don't think the messiah would renounce jewish laws from jews.

He seems to be telling the truth...that Jesus (peace be upon him) would be born of a virgin. But why did you twist the rest of it up to suit your own beliefs? This is what it really says in Isaiah 7:14:
"Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign. Look, the young woman [virgin] is with child and shall bear a son, and shall name him Immanuel [meaning God is with us]."
The verse says that Jesus (pbuh) would be born of a virgin. It does not say that the child would be God's child. Consider Adam, created with no mother and no father. So in the same way God has created a child without a father. Jesus' name Immanuel means "God is with us." The verse does not say that Jesus (pbuh) is God amongst us.
I highly doubt that any old-testament writer would have said that God could actually have a son and be human. It is written in the old testament not to worship anything on the earth or in the sea.

As i'm confident you already know, there are actual Jews and non secular Jews: "For he isn't a Jew, that's one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, that's outward interior the flesh: yet he's a Jew, that's one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the midsection, interior the spirit, and not interior the letter; whose compliment isn't of adult men, yet of God." (Rom. 2:28-29) I somewhat have heard the argument you talk of, and that's rediculous. The history of Christianity began one hundred% Jewish. They weren't even confident regardless of if to take the gospel to the gentiles; Paul replaced into the tool God used to commence up this. Likewise, Paul pronounced the existence of actual Christian Jews announcing there could continuously be a handful, or "remnant," and that at last they could all be saved. Romans 9:27 and 11:a million-5, 25-29. i assume human beings get caught up interior the version between actual and non secular. after all, they might say regardless of they desire to; the certainty is what concerns. you're a Christian Jew. you're double-blessed.

David,
You are a christian. Stop this evil and deceptive form of missionizing. It degrades christianity.

on the side, isaiah 7 is clearly not messianic if you read the whole chapter. and "alma" doesn't mean virgin either. You'd know that if you spoke hebrew (I guess it wasn't part of your "extensive jewish upbringing", huh?)

Right on! But none of God's prophets lie.... Man may argue over the correct interpretation, but God's prophets always told the truth. And the coolest part is they told it in ADVANCE!!! sometimes hundreds of years in advance.....

Paul explains it. Read the Pauline epistles first.
