lol i just looked up some tool concert tickets and some of the tickets run 1200 dollars per stub!! ROFL!! do you think its reasonable that a band ask you to pay the equivalent cost of a used car to see them play music for a few hours? lol im amazed, i knew they'd gotten more expensive lately, but jeez....maybe its to make up for pirating lol, only reason i can think of, crazyness...

Concerts aren't just musicians playing their songs, anymore.

Full on stage productions with multi-million dollar sound systems, large stage (which have to be portable), pyrotechnics, manpower, transportation costs, insurance, fees, licenses, etc., are all a part of the total ticket price.

Consider that in many instances, there is a duplicate stage production being set up in San Francisco for tomorrow night's performance while its twin is in Seattle for tonight's show. The talent flies from one to the other, while the stages are leap frogging each other.

So, one must be willing to settle for less theatrics, which, in some instances would detract from the show.

As a foot note, I saw the Eagles Hell Freezes Over tour for a cost of $86 at Sacramento's ARCO arena. It was worth every penny.

If they can fill up their performing venue with those ticket prices, then that is the right price. It is not your God-given right to get to see the band play live. If you are surprised that people will actually pay that much to see that band, then you probably aren't as serious as they are about getting into the concert. If something is really important to me, then I will save up $1200 for it. Going to see Tool is not worth that to me. I would rather just buy the DVD of one of their live concerts instead.

It's really upsetting how expensive concerts have become. The people who are charging the most are the bands that need the money the least. I refuse to pay hundreds of dollars to go see huge bands that rake in millions every day. Most of them are better in the studio anyway.

I think anything over $60 is just stupid. In fact, the only concerts I will attend are coordinated through the state fair, so the tickets will run $20 to $30 on the average.

lol, this is why i stick with local bands. the most expensive concert i've been to in 3 years was $15, and it lasted 12 hours. i think most mainstream bands are over-rated anyways...

its a luxury to go to concerts.

but yeah...they are over priced. they just are not worth it moneterily...but i have to go see my favorites.

also remember they are priced at what the market will bear.

you know i got a projector and hooked it up to my dvd player and i watch concerts like that with my friends...its a pretty cool experience too. not concert cool, but still cool.

It's "too" expensive, but anyway, you can choose not to go. Anyone who pays that kind of money is nuts! No group or performer is worth it!
