my boyfriend had never dated a smoker and he said he never would but we have been together for almost two yrs now and i still smoke, i respect how he feels about it so i dont smoke around him or when we go out or in his vehicle and i always have gum and toothbrush handy. its a nasty habit to start and hard habit to break but if you really love someone you can work through it

Well if it is that much of a turn off for you than you couldn't be that interested in the person. Everyone is entitled to feel the way that they feel. But, if you feel that way remember that you know that about this person before hand. You can't change someone. So, if you two are together do you expect them not to smoke b/c it is a turn off to you?? What if they do, will you get offended?? Upset??
Just things to consider. You know how you feel about it before hand, so I probably wouldn't go down that road.

If you don't like smoke, then do not date any one who is a smoker. I personally could not. The smell of smoke is very irritating especially if you have to kiss one or be around one! The choice is yours.

I'd date a light smoker (light meaning not the type of cigs but the quantity :), but no way I'd date a chain-smoker.

my experience with light smokers is a very good probability he/she will quit smoking because of your constant nagging :)))

I agree with you. I hate smoking, I don't think I would date a smoker either.
