Well the first thing you want to teach yourself is that "full" and "satisfied" are two different things. TO train your body to lose weight you want to try and get satisfied. This will train your stomach to want less food the more and more you eat.
As far as the carbs you want to drink a glass of water before your meal with a splash of lemon (you can squeeze 1/4 of a lemon in it or about 1tbs of lemon juice but fresh lemon is better). For some reason this helps me to realize that I am satisfied a lot faster than if I do not do it.

Yum - are you going full hardcore Atkins or just cutting down?
ON ATKINS:
Your limited allowance of carbs goes a much longer way when applied to fruit, veggies and salad rather than bread etc. Get to like them, you're going to be seeing a lot of them.
CUTTING BACK:
Again, bulk up on veg and cut back on the starchy stuff to fill your plate, but it's not at the exclusion of breads etc.
Eat only wholegrain bread, preferably granary(which takes a lot longer time to digest) brown rice (ditto... pain in the backside to cook but actually tastes nicer), and whole wheat pasta. Sadly most Italian noodles and all filled pastas are well out, but protein-rich japanese ones can still be included.
The idea is that your blood sugar won't spike or crash as much, which causes cravings for worse stuff like chocolate. Don't beat yourself up over what you can't have, try and get to like what you can.
Speaking of chocolate... if you're not on an actual low-carb diet or changing for diabetic reasons, don't beat yourself up for the odd slip here and there, because these things happen. If you're bad one day, be extra good the next day and a half.
If you're low carbing or even just cutting back, you can still get plenty of treats if you know where to look. If you go to a health food store, look in the diabetic/low carb section or on LowCarbMegastore online or somewhere for stuff like Woodies' chocolate bars. In bigger Tescos, look for Russell Stover sugar free stuff in the sweet aisle.
They're not exactly cheap and you can't scoff to your heart's content (they still have a few calories, and they also have side effects if you eat too many... *phaaarrpp*). But they do taste as good or better than the real thing, and make a low carb diet seem a lot less like punishment.
Best of luck, DW x

you could get full eating plenty of leafy veggies, but you really shoulnt get on a Low -Carb Diet. It's the easy way out, plus, you gain the wait much more quickly once you stop. I had 2 friends go on Atkins and yeah, they slimmed down a bit, but there's a catch. In a few months, you double the fat that you are currently act. A body needs carbs to keep going. Your best bet is to eat what you like, but do so in moderation and love your body!!!

Water before a meal, plenty of fiber (veggies), and protein with every meal and snack. Moderation on carbs is good, but don't cut them out completely... eat whole grains in bread, whole wheat pasta, and brown rice. Good luck!

You should eat those things but the whole grain versions like whole wheat bread, whole wheat pasta and brown rice. Take a look at the food pyramid...whole grains are what you should be getting the most of.

If you are eating low carb, then it is safe to eat more fat. Fat is more satiating and will leave you feeling full longer. You actually can stay full longer on LESS calories by eating fat rather than carbs.

Carbs are also chicken, beef, pork...Pasta and rice are higher in carbs and are slower to digest...
