-Perfect for scanning my county police trunked radio system, and plently of room to store many frequencies of the different states I drive through

Bearcat 210xl
-First scanner and little memory just to scan the local fire departments

As a licensed Ham operator, I happen to have several as well as a couple of receivers that can tune those frequencies so I have no real preference. I do have a tired old Regency with a set of local xtals in it that I run more often then most, to monitor weather and fire/police usually during a storm.

i own a bearcat 180 made by uni den. but as a ham operator i have a yaeseu ft60r duel band radio that i use as a scanner at times

programming can be very confusing...lots come pre-programmed with lots of frequencies.very good source of entertainment..Dont carry it with you if you plan to commit a crime..Youll double your chances of going to jail for a long time.
