Did you have to find out on your own or did he tell you that he cheated? Many people only feel sorry about cheating when they've been caught...meaning...they are really only sorry they got caught. If he told you that he cheated...then I give him *some* credit...but not much. Many people that cheat will NOT tell if they think they can "get away" with it. IF he told you (even though he could have just as easily NOT told you and you'd never have found out) then he did it because he WANTED you to know for whatever reason and this could signal he was truly sorry. Actions have consequences and if you can accept your actions and confess and face up to the consequences that has to mean *something.*

I don't know if "Once a cheater, always a cheater" is accurate. I've seen it turn out both ways. It depends on if the person REALLY feels guilt and if they did it because there was an opportunity and not something fundamental lacking in your relationship. At the same time...if you take him back you are in for a HUGE struggle. Dealing with the doubt, the lack of trust, the arguments about the lack of trust and doubt, the shoving it back in his face when you get into the arguments about the lack of trust and your own self-doubt of "What was wrong with me that made him go to someone else?"

If you have been with him for a considerable amount of time...you may find all this struggling worth it. If you haven't been with him for a long time...cut your loses and find someone who doesn't need a third person in a monogamous relationship.

Do you believe once a cheater always a cheater? If you do you'll always be suspicious of him and the relationship will fail. If you think you could trust him again then consider getting back together with him. The other thing is, is he really sorry about the fact that he cheated and showed through his actions that he is sorry. Does he still have feelings for you? Would he want to get back together? So basically communicate with him and talk seriously with him. Let him be aware he is walking on thin ice and you want him to prove himself to you. He will if he really loves you and is sorry. Be aware that it could happen again but don't let that affect your relationship if you do get back together. Also dump him for good if he cheats again because past a second chance is just being foolish and setting yourself up for more hurt. Good luck with your decision.

If he cheated on you . You shouldn't take him back. When a guy or girl cheats they shouldn't be taken back . You know what pepole always say onece a cheater always a cheater. He's not worth your time . Find someone elses who wont cheat on you . And who will care for you . And only you.
