I know how you feel, I had the opposite problem, there were a 120 kids in my grade, it was easy to get lost in the crowd. Make friends with the older kids, or some of the boys. The two stuck-up girls will be jealous.
Good idea to learn a sport, and get good at it, the boys will all pick you to be on their team. Bribery works, in junior high I was The Source for gum. Try a roll of lifesavers, or a sack of Skittles.Offer it around at recess. Don't have to have them everyday, but often. Pretty soon, they'll come to you to ask for candy.
Be nice to everyone, even the stuck up girls. Smile, say Hi, even if you don't get a lot of Hi back.
Do your homework, and participate more in class, raise your hand to answer the teacher. Be a doer and a joiner in class, your positive attitude will carry over onto the playground. Don't show off, others will notice how smart you are.
Pay attention to your looks. Neat and nice gets the good kind of attention, messy and slobby gets the bad kind..
I always looked around and found the shy kids, the other kids who are alone on the playground, and hung with them. Pretty soon, there was a whole group of us.
Hope this helps, good luck. And when in doubt, ask your Mom or caregiver, she might have some good ideas.

Sounding like an American though I'm not one, which football are you talking about?
American football with a pigskin- Basically, one team versus another .Get the ball to the other end.
Football in Europe and most of the world/ soccer in the US- Two teams, score on the other team by kicking the ball in the goal. Both games have lots of side rules such as offsides and penalties.
Two ways to learn are via PE or watching games on TV/ playing them on a game console.
On the question of small school and friends, well being yourself is one thing to do. You can try people in other grades as well.

I guess you're going to have to be friends with some boys, sweetie. Honestly, sometimes they make better friends anyway. Girls can be catty, and it sounds like these two are anyway
Anyway, you'll need to do this: Smile at everyone, talk to others as much as you can (so long as it's an appropriate time), keep your head up and eyes forward while walking (and remember that smile!), and never ever avoid saying hi to someone you're aquainted with because you're hoping they'll say it first. They might be as shy as you, and there's nothing wrong with a friendly hello.
Just don't try to be someone you're not, because people can smell a fake from a mile away.
If you cannot make friends in this school, then try to make friends in other places. Join local community sports and programs, like a community theatre, soccer program, dance class, Karate class, etc. You are more likely to meet people you can be friends with if you're taking something that you enjoy, because they enjoy it too! And, as a bonus, you'll have something to talk about with kids at school. Everyone loves a good story! Just don't give people the idea that it's all about you. When talking to others, make sure you listen to them as well.
Good luck!

Sometimes it is tough, especially with a small school. Be polite, but don't try to hard to make people like you. Just be yourself and that will interest people. Kindness goes a long way. As far as football goes, the best way to learn is watch before you play. If you want to be part of the team now, ask the coach if you can volunteer as a statatician or a water carrier. Watch and learn when you can, and watch it on TV.

Where the heck do you live? Upper Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan? You have insecurity and need to get over it. Surely there must be some kids in your town or neighborhood, if not in school, who can be your friends. If that is the case, you just have to get through school as best you can. Focus on learning the subjects taught, and time will go by faster, until you're in high school or college and have better opportunity for having friends.

Is there any way to have recess with another grade group? Maybe at your recess you could volunteer to help the younger kids read or do math?
My mother was a teacher and I would help her with her kids. Those kids loved it! This might be a idea for you?

be yourself and the rest will come to you.
i had the experience of being a loner...and i have to admit it was really...sad...but then, i started joining clubs and i concentrated with my studies and then people started hanging out with me (I now belong to a 10-people group) anyways, it's not worth your time in being something your not. just do what you feel like doing and be yourself. confidence helps! and a little socializing. once people see you good qualities there no way they'd say no :D
and i know how to play football :D (soccer) i'm in the football club. you gotta watch games then just practice everyday til your good. training and research helps :D

You need to start hanging with the guys then. Those girls will really regret it in a few years when you have a gang of 15 - 20 guys around you.

don't worry I'm sure that someone will accept you for who you are no swear and here is how you play football
you can only touch the ball with your feet. Goalies can touch with their hands as well as their feet.
Strikers-name is explanatory
midfielders-can play as a support to the strikers or the defenders
defenders-last line of defence before the goalie.
goalie-protect the goal by keeping the ball away.

don't worry about it. just think about this when you get older you can move to a big city and have as many friends as you want. i live in houston ther's too many people here. find something you like to do. like play frisbee.(just an example) just bring one to school (if it's allowed) and just start throwing around to yourself . someone will notice and ask to join.
