I always thought that if u build up muscle than the muscle helps to burn fat yet doing situps which builds muscle wont burn off any of the fat?

well what most people dont realize when they are trying to lose weight is that at the very deginning you will be gaining a lot of muscle, which will make you weigh more, but anytime you are burning calories, you are burning fat. stick mostly with the cardio (ie running or using an elliptical machine) if you are trying to shed pounds. then later, when you have lost the weight you want, you can start focusing on building your muscles to give you a really toned body...my boyfriend is really into this stuff, so i know a good bit about it. feel free to ask anytime! hope it helped.

Muscle is the only thing that burns fat (calories).

yes

muscles burn more fat then fat cells

SO if u add muscle mass u will increase ur calorie need

witch in turn burns off fat

yes and muscle can never be replaced
when people starve themselves they also starve and lose muscle
