"He that is wounded in the stones, or hath his privy member cut off, shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD. A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the LORD." (Deuteronomy 23:1-2)

It looks like Christians are pretty selective.

My favorite verse is James 1:5-6. These verses say that if we are unsure we need to ask Heavenly Father with an open heart and we will be given the answer.

I know without a shadow of doubt that this is so true.

In Luke chapter 18 where Jesus rebuked his disciples when they had tried to turn the children away. Jesus said "Let the young children come to me and do not try to stop them. For the kingdom of God belongs to suchlike ones." The world would be a better place if we were like children in the way that they are before they are taught hate and lose their honesty and are taught to lie etc.
So nice to find someone actually interested in the Bible! Best wishes for the future!

After reading Return of the Prodigal Son by Henri Bowen

I'd have to say my favorite story ( besides the Gospel it's self) is the parable of the prodigal son.

The most inspiring story for me is The Lost Son (Prodigal Son).

This is a story that gives us the assurance that God the father will forgive us for our sins against Him and others, when we come back to Him humbled from our terrible past.

It has a strong influence in my life and a good reference for parents of young adults.

when god calls abraham and tells him that his decendants will be as numerious as the sand, when he and his wife are so old that they really don't believe they can have a child.
the whole abraham thing is the story of a man; and his own personal relationship with his god. though both he and sarah were rather coniveing(like most of us). i think it's easier to relate to them and their story because of that. i think that's why those details are in the bible.

I like all the accounts of Jesus resurrecting people from the dead. Especially the one about Lazarus.(John 11) Even when Jesus knew that he was about to resurrect this man, he still cried. It really helps me to see what Jesus will be able to do on a grander scale as king of God's kingdom.
