i find them both to be very interesting. thomas is a book of sayings. it is set up much like the analects of confucius; a teacher speaking to his students. it lends more credence to the theory that the missing years of jesus's life in the bible were spent in the far east learning about bhuddism and confucianism. many of jesus's teachings and saying are lifted straight from those two philosophies.
the gospel of judas is also remarkable. it states that judas was not the terrible person of the christian bible but rather part of the divine plan of jesus's sacrifice and resurrection. he enabled christ to makes his sacrifice so therefore he was very exalted in jesus's eyes.
the gnostic gospels seem to be more historically correct. at least according to many biblical scholars.

Both are obvious ancient "cut and paste" jobs that have taken portions of authentic scripture and interlaced it with Gnostic heresy.
The Catholic church picked the authentic books of the bible because those books had always been used by the faithful, and they were universally acclaimed as credible and true.
The gospel of thomas and judas were quickly recognized as falsehoods, detrimental to the faith of all true Christians, and were quickly discarded.
Anyone who knows real scripture when they see it, can tell that both these books are heretical fakes, unworthy of any consideration at all.
Don't waste your time with them.

I am not familiar with them, but would really like to read them. I'm sure that they contain a lot of information and I hope they haven't been altered to the point that the rest of them have. I'm sure that they offer good insights into Jesus and what really happened around the so-called "betrayal" and the crucifixion, especially in the Gospel of Judas.

WitchTwo,
They both have a Gnostic demeanor to them.
I don't like either one.
I've read a lot of Fantasy when I was a kid. Thomas and Judas didn't even entertain me as good as they did. They to me were poorly written, and missing a lot of parts. Some of them were unintelligible.
I found a great site for a lot of other writings. Maybe you will find them interesting. I liked the writings presented as Enoch. Also check out the ones about Jesus when he was a little boy. Very interesting!
The address is in the sources, check it out.

I'm am not interested in reading those, but thank you for the suggestion.
There are enough books in the regular Bible. If one reads it, there is enough information to obtain salvation. That's really all that is necessary. However, there is also the answer to every question one has in life. That's a bonus!

Someone perverts Einstein's name and says she doesn't want to read anything but the bible. Odd? Just a little?

Yep there is some good reading in both of them. I have no opinion what so ever on either of them. But I rejoice for you for reading them and wanting feed back from others. yaya
