I would do anything for my kids, no matter what. They are my life and I don't know what I would do without them.

I think you have no limit or border as your children can ask you, any time, anywhere, in pace of your life that you have done little for our happiness while you could have done more. You can read their minds even they do not tell you that. Being a mom or dad is not an easy job, your children will accept your sacrifices when they take the same job, probably we as children did the same to our parents, no doubt without any bad attention as our children are doing at the moment. ( Love them for their happiness as it is a natural evolution).

That depends on what you call "happy". Is it the latest video game the're whining for, or a loan to start a life-long dream? Too many people give their kids whatever "stuff" is currently being flogged on TV. After that's bought and broken, they'll just whine for something new. You need to give them what they need, not what they want. Happiness comes from within. You need to teach your children to be personally responsible for their feelings and find happiness in their own lives.

I don't have any kids... but I have and will go pretty far to make my parents happy. I think it goes both ways (and I don't mean over indulging children) and you get back what you put in.

Not as far as a lot of these yuppy parents I see today!

No, I do what's GOOD for my child, not what will make him happy...at least not always. There are limits and those must be respected and stuck to with due diligence.

I would NEVER risk my life to make my child simply happy. What does that teach them except that they can get whatever they want without having to work for it!

NO, I would risk my life to make sure my child is SAFE, to make sure he gets what he NEEDS...but not simply to make him happy!

well you don't have to go far it's like this....
GOd loves us right...yes..
but he dose not give us everything we want and your children should not get everything they want...
God tells us no and when we go over that line something bad happens
so that means when you say no to your children and they go over the line whep them or ground them
i'm 13 year's old i got a family of 5 sisters and brother we are all very repectfull to my mom and dad
and that dose not mean they do not make us wark to make a child grow up right he gots to work but we have a blast with our mom still adn da they are both very fun and i would never trad them for anything in the world GOd makes us work for our food and stuff and children need to work some so they know they can't just make it trow life donin nothing

What do you mean by happy exactly? Materialistically? or Just plain happy?

But anyway, I would try my best as long as it's manageable and needed from them.
