I was a member at a ladies only gym but left because the mothers were dawdling taking up the treadmills and bikes etc and would just chit chat so I told them it was a 'mothers playground' and joined a newly opened mixed gym down the road big mistake, I pay more with less facilities and it's full of diluted delusional 18 yr olds that stare and make filthy comments at you and their g/f's look u up and down too, I want to go back but what do you think their reaction will be after I left with a comment like that? I also complained about a trainer b4 I left because I elevated a treadmill for resistance and it pulled the cord out of the wall so she got angry with me. But at least I wasn't checked out like I am a piece of meat!!

You shouldn't be at either of those gyms! Gyms are places for working out and getting fit. Not for social gatherings or picking up women! Try to look for a diffrent gym to go to. Do you live near a Gold's Gym? If so then you should try that out. I go there and it's great.

So now you know what it meant when they say when you leave a place you should build bridges and not walls. Look at the positive side, at least you gain a lesson which will be useful in future in your life. Anyway is that gym the only one in Singapore that you think you will only like. I am sure there are others which you can go and try out. It is not as if it is the end of the gym story.

Both of those places are not for serious people. You must learn to do things on your own, by yourself, alone, and without help from anyone. You can get results from your hard work. I have had several friends workout with me in the past, as free-weight spotters, go jogging with, etc., and I feel I had better results while working out alone when I chose my free time, any time, no waiting around for them to show up. You could do all the workout things you mentioned at home. Save the money.

go back, if they'll let you, says i (arrrgh!). compare how you'd feel about the old gym's likely reaction with what you're feeling now. which is worse? choose the least painful. perhaps look for another grandma gym, where you haven't pissed anyone off... and don't piss anyone off. say, "babushka, i really must ask you to let me use the treadmill - my husband beats me, if i do not make my ten mile quota!".
