ever since i deleted limewire, i am not able to open my shared folder, the window closes whenever i try to open it...
even when i try to play music from that folder, my mediaplayer/iTunes shuts down...

You got a virus/trojan!!!
I think you need some spyware/adware or virus help.
This is what I do to protect my computer:
> Scan your computer for spyware/adware using a FREE software from Microsoft called Windows Defender: http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx
> You can download a FREE antivirus software:
http://www.grisoft.com/doc/Programs/lng/us/tpl/tpl01
> You can buy Webroot Spy Sweeper here, it's very nice, safe and very up-to-date:
http://www.webroot.com/land/freescan-3000.php?rc=4929&ac=5190853
> MSN Toolbar, includes Pop-up blocker, Phishing filter - FREE:
http://toolbar.live.com/?mkt=en-us
> Use Windows Update to make sure you have the latest security updates: http://www.windowsupdate.com
> You can download the latest version of Internet Explorer, it's the new version, fast, clean and secure:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.mspx?mg_ID=10010
Good luck and I hope these solutions solve your problem, if you need more extra help, contact me :)

So you deleted it. Ok, go to add/remove programs to make sure Limewire isn't in the list. Then go to the windows explorer and do a search for limewire. And then delete the program folder. Now, go to utorrent.com and get the version 1.6. Use Utorrent to find spyware program. I recommend not being active on the internet and do many scans to make sure none sneak in. I use Norton System Works 2005 with frequent updates. It detects some adware, but won't remove it. Only a full version will remove the infections. If you need a serial number for the spyware program go to serials.ws. Limewire has been said to have adware/spyware. DO NOT GET SPYWARE QUAKE. I also recomment getting Firefox as a browser instead of Internet explorer. I love it, and no adware. Hope this helps.

well you know any software is bad if you dont use it properly....
limewire is one of the most used P2P app for gnutell network...so it cant be that bad.....accept it pal it was ur own mistake......
so the problem may occur because:
1. you deleted limewire(you should have uninstalled) that may have corruped the data in the shared folder), try installing limewire again and then properly uninstall it...
2. viruses , trojans or spywares
3. did you bro or sis locked the folder with some folder locker software...check on it, it may be the case
if nothing works...guess ou gotta loose ur vidz stuff and start all over collecting 'em

Don't listen to anyone above. I've tried them. None of these worked above. This is like all-in-one packet, please download this:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/ get the trail Version 4. run updates and scan full system.
It got my folders working, task manager working, and stopped errors from popping up.
If you're able to bring up Task Manager. Please bring it up and make sure Limewire.exe is not there. If it is there. Keep that window open. Open where Shared folder is, you should have .limewire folder there, Stop progress Limewire.exe off Task Manager and then quickly delete .limewire folder and empty it from Recyclin Bin. It should stop appearing. It does take up a lot of memory space. You should still have files in Shared folders

Limewire is notta good. Not only because it's illegal, but because of spyware / virus vunrablilities. If you can't run a viruscan from you computer, try using Trend Mirco's Housecall: http://www.trendmicro.com/hc_intro/default.asp
After you remove any virus or spyware infection and you still have these problems, try doing a repair install of windows. If that doesn't work, do your best to save as much as your data as you can onto a CD, flash drive, format your hard drive(s) and reinstall windows.
And don't use Limewire, Kazaa or any of those programs. They only cause trouble. And it's illegal. : )

that is surely an exceptionally person-friendly concern with Limewire. It stops letting you re-connect, which disables the seek option. From there you are able to purely pay attention to what you have already downloaded on your library. the only element that worked for me substitute into deleting the finished software and re-setting up in some months later. Sorry : /
