Religion fanatics, Left or right wingers? etc etc. No room for intelligent discussion. Most questions here are pretty light weight without much thought.

This is why! Their belief!
Belief is usually defined as a conviction to the truth of a proposition without its verification, therefore it is a subjective mental interpretation of the perception results, own contemplation/reasoning or communication.
A said: "I believe God X is wiser, so I chose to be God X believer."
B said: "I believe God Y's bible is the best, so I chose to be GodY's believer."
C said: "I believe God Z is what make my life more meaningful"
D said: "I believe God V Created Man in His Image."

A, B, C and D will definitely not be concessive for what they believe, unless to have "mission" to convert B to A or C to A.
The, some of B will like it some of C will not.. and then we have these kinds of stories keep repeating everyday.

Only the libs are that way. The moderates, conservatives and the right wingers don't do that. Watch MSNBC, for example, they will put on a lib opposite anyone else, ask the lefties a soft ball question and get a bunch of talking points that has nothing to do with the question. Then they will ask the other guest a hard ball question, the guest will start to answer and the lib will interrupt-talk over them-scream like Hillery or Dean and do most anything to prevent them from answering with the facts.

True, I'm sure everyone has seen the hateful stuff here, the silly stuff, the mocking stuff. However, there have been some sincere folks asking sincere questions, which is always a breath of fresh air. Thank God for them!

People just get emotional, they have a lot riding on their religious and political beliefs. They are some of the things that make use who we are. So some people interpret that if you don't agree with their religious or political beliefs it means you think they are wrong as a person.

Only certain personalities find it easy to detach from the emotion of these issues and just look at facts.

I'm a Christian, and I think that when you discuss the Bible, mayn things are arguable because they aren't clearly stately, which is what we're used to. But I don't know many Christians who will get offended if you disagree. They'll probaby just show you a verse from the Bible to prove their point, but won't be mad at you or anything like that just because of a disagreement. That's just stupid.

No one has to agree with me. I am here to serve my Lord. I try to stay very true to His teachings, but Lord knows I am not perfect.

When you do business with God, you cannot compromise. I serve my Lord, not the world. Many things are very popular and trendy here on the earth, the earth is full of new ideas...I am here to remind you about the old idea that can actually save you...eternity is long long time...i want to be with God, and I want to take as many people with me as possible. Jesus will respect your free will, so do I.

most people have a issue whenever something they strongly believe in is questioned or disagreed with. The stronger their beliefs the more they argue and fight about what they believe in. All wars that have been fought have been a result of differences in beliefs.

This was always a big issue in our home, so I know... It's real hard for people to agree to disagree.... or to except that people can have their own opinion.... but people like that get mad, they think their opinion always right....and they won't listen to yours.... Oh, we go back and fourth with this all the time.....Sometimes I found it is easier just to say " your right" and then they still want to argue, so ya know , you can never win ......

In some cases, people are only asking questions to get an affirmation of their own views. So really, they aren't looking for honest discussion, just a reinforcement of their own beliefs to make them feel better about themselves.
