lol They don't ALL try to act smart! Some of the questions, and answers are pretty childish. Personally, I have fun with some of them, but with others I'll try to give as well thought of an answer as the question, or my ability allows. It's a grey matter excercise thing. Like any muscle, the brain gets weak if you don't use it. Answering questions helps recall one's own knowledge, and in so doing strengthens the neural connections, etc. Plus, it's the least I can do to give an honest answer to an honest question, and every once in a while, I'm mistaken and have it pointed out.

I wouldn't say "everyone!" I for one am thrilled when I find an intelligent, thoughtful question from a person who can string two sentences together. It seems to be a rare event. Perhaps the people who seem smart to you really are.
Unless you mean acting like a smart-alek, and in that case, ignorant questions just warrant it.

Honestly I usually try to be smart only when faced with intelligent questions and when I really feel like giving a well thought-out answer...the rest I either have fun with (that includes being a smart-alek) or I just ignore them.

Well, hypothetically speaking, none of these so called "answers" completely resolve all of your queries. This program is designated for those of us, like myself, that are sitting at the location where they acquire their income and choose not to do the actual work that from which the income.......comes from.
I'm kidding......good question.
