I don't have a clear understanding of why so many people are attracted to organized religion, when God considers everyone created equal in his/her own likeness. Does it really matter what religion you choose or if you choose one at all? Does it matter to God?

Brilliant question. God is one. our elders in ancient world, they brought the new system called religion. This religion is made to, move the people in right path. They made this religion, to make the people not only to believe god but also to seed a fear in the heart and mind, that there is some one else in this world to punish us if they do mistakes knowingly. You know world very big, peoples in different part made their own religion to make their people to follow it. The beuty of all the religion is, they teach us how to live, how to love, how to believe god etc. All they say the same kind of thoughts. But, some selfish people made this religion as business, for their good. Made the 0 people to believe the only one is true nothing else. The only difference in them is GOD. Some say JESUS, some ALLAH and some LORD KRISHNA.
According to me something is there beyond the mankind, i don't know whether it is jesus or allah or lord krishna. ONE THING I CAN SAY, THE SUPER NATURAL POWER BEYOND MAN KIND IS "NATURE". It does everything. God.... it is nothing but our good heart. If we do good to others we look like a god to them, They won't forget us. The heart which feels a pain on others problems, and trying to do something good, that is god. So believe in you, God is inside you, Reliogion is a mask, remove it and through it. Everything is same. We have our own life to live , Live it. In the mean time why do we worry about these things...... anyway i think i have given long answer to your question... sorry to bouring you. Thank you for giving me a oppurtunity to answer your question.

Egos choose organized religion. God is found within, and no intermediaries are required or even allowed! Religion has nothing to do with God and NO it doesn't matter to God whether we choose a religion at all. Everyone at some point will know God within, so God is actually not at all worried about us, whether we're lost or found. God knows that we're ALL on our way home.

Peace

Yes, it does.
God made angels in his image, and satan is an angel - My point is that just because God loves us doesn't mean we can't go to hell. The only way to the Father and to eternal life is through Jesus the son, with the help of the Holy Spirit. Faith alone will not save you - the purpose of our being on earth is to love and serve the lord (note the "serve"), meaning that through faith and good works we can get to heaven. Organized religion helps us to bring that "serve" part into the picture. If enough people believe the same thing, than an organized religion is inevitable.

Also, as an aside: Sometimes, it is necessary to discomfort others in order to stand up for what is right - being a peacemaker does not mean being Apathetic; It means enforcing what is right and just in the Lord's eyes. You can't just waddle around saying you believe there is a God, but that he doesn't want religion because it causes dissent; that's like someone saying that they believe there is a King but he doesn't like the concept of a kingdom because it causes controversy.

Yes it does mater to God how he is worshiped.
He created all things and as Jeremiah 10:23 points out, man can not direct his own step. Look at the mess we are in because of what happened 6031 years ago in the Garden of Eden.
God has always had only 1 way of doing things.
1 man and woman, 1 acceptable way of action, ex. Enoch and Noah.
1 means of bringing about the Savior, Christ, thru the nation of Israel and thru the line of King David.
1 Christ, 1 faith, the true faith...
You can find it today by looking at those who try to live their lives accordingly.
Matthew 24:14 ; 28:19, 20 and Exodus 20:4, 5

Throughout history God has always had a chosen people that he has worked thru. Anyone who has studied the Bible can appreciate that. Right now, God's covenent is with the annointed ones (spiritual Israel--not natural Israel). The Bible tells us that they will be joined by a great crowd of other sheep. Just as in Noah's day, God has made a provision for our survival. We must be inside the antitypical ark in order to survive. The Bible commands us to gather ourselves together and even more so as we behold the day drawing near. It is up to each one of us to read and study the Bible in order to identify which religion is the ONE that has God's blessing. Everyone who is outside will meet with God's disapproval just as they did in Noah's day.

Organized religion is a big benifit to me because it helps me feel connected to other people by praying with them, by knowing that I am not the only one with the same beliefs, and the discussions that we have about what God and life is all about. I like it because it gives me a deeper chance to reflect and connect with those around me. In another way it helps me grow because I identify what things I definately agree in and what things I believe that may set me apart. But that's ok because that is how you grow and learn, and you still need to pay attention to what YOU in your heart truly believe, rather than just what you are supposed to. I'm Catholic and I really like it and I try to make it to church every week. But everyone is different I suppose, but this is something that helps me.

No, God doesn't care because as long as we all do our best not to hurt others and to help when we can, who cares? People are attracted to organized religion because it gives them a sense of order in their lives. They feel like they have to belong to something. Me, personally, I don't subscribe to any religion -- I believe in a higher power and try to be the best person I can be but don't feel it's necessary to go to church/mosque/temple because if I need to talk to said higher power, I can do it from the comfort of my own home.

RELIGION IS NOT IN GOD'S HEART. What matters to Him is for people to have an intimate and loving relationship with Him. Pray and ask God to reveal Himself to you and your life will never be the same again.

Jesus came to the earth to free us from religions. He wanted to teach us to have a personal relationship with God. Religion does not save you, Jesus does. We get saved only by the mercy and grace of God.

It's not as if we have a choice,We are born to our religions,we are nortured by our parents to their religions. And they by their parents.By the time we became adults, we've been properly brainwashed to tottaly embraced our parents religions. If you step back and REALLY think, Religions are just concepts pass on to you for generations. So I think it doesn't matter if youchoose to have a religion or not, as long as you do good things to your fellowmen, you can't go wrong!
