If they want rights, why don't they become citizens? Is there even a question here? I mean, come on, why should they have rights if they're illegal?

To have rights and privileges as Americans they need to be American. Period. Illegals should not expect to get all the benefits that legitimate citizens get. They need to wait in line like everyone else.

They should have as many rights in America as legal immigrants living in Mexico, which is close to none. The following are actual laws of Mexico today:

First: If you immigrate to Mexico, you have to speak the native language. You have to be a professional or an investor; no unskilled workers allowed. Also, there are no special bilingual programs in the schools. No special ballots for elections. No government business will be conducted in any language other than Spanish. Foreigners do not have the right to vote or hold political office.

If you're in Mexico, you cannot be a burden to taxpayers. You are not entitled to welfare, food stamps, or other government goodies. You can go there if you invest : an amount equal to 40,000 times the daily minimum wage. If not, stay home. But if you want to buy land, it'll be restricted. No waterfront, for instance. As a foreigner, you must relinquish individual rights to the property.

And another thing. You don't have the right to protest. You're allowed no demonstrations, no foreign flag waving, no political organizing, no bad-mouthing the president or his policies. Youre a foreigner: shut your mouth or get out! And if you go to Mexico illegally, you're going to jail.

Just the human rights, those must be respected no matter where you are, no matter what you are. It is a matter of being civilized. It suppose USA is the guardian of human rights right? So it must be the first one in respecting those. You have right to I respect your human rights and you have right to Mexico's authorities and Mexico people respect your human rights and do not see you with hatred.

They do not become citizens because it's not an easy thing to do. You should get informed about requirements and the limitations so you give more foundations and your opinion will be more respected and not only product of EVERYBODY SAY...or I HEARD THAT...you know product of what other people think.

We can't pay for school and services for that many poor people. Poor people's taxes are very low and don't cover those costs. We cover those costs for OUR poor people, but we can't take on everyone else's poor. It is ruining education and services for our own people in areas where illegals concentrate.

That is why there are limits on immigration of poor people in our laws, as there are in all other developed countries, and we need to keep it that way.

Some companys sure think they have the right to hire and pay them a low wage.
You know they don't hire themselves.
some people are on a waiting list for 10 years to gain citizenship, it's not as black and white as you present it. please stop blaming the little guy and go after the employers who brake the law in the name of profit.

A whole lot of them don't want to become citizens ...and when you think of it, why should they? They get everything handed to them on a silver platter ... why bother with allegiance to the flag, paying taxes, paying for health care etc., when they don't have to? Much easier to come over here and demand "rights" ...

They ran away from a country that (if they applied themselves) they would have rights. They don't want rights they want to direct the American political machine to favor mexico. Pure and simple.

You are right, this should not be an issue. Unfortunately not everyone believes in following the laws. They believe they should only follow laws that they want to follow.
