the situation in LAX past 24 hours, i think it is right that they are increasing security but i dont think that all these new prescriptions and methods of not habing a juice or a hairspray on the plane are going to help against a bomb threat, i mean if someone wanted to blow a plane up i think they are going to use a bomb not a pepsi

Yea, I think they should be looking more closely at the airport employees...do we really trust the people who load the planes, handle the baggage, who are actually on the tarmac and working behind the scenes doing the maintenance types of jobs?

I think we should relly keep this all in perspective - the number of deaths attributable to terrorism in the US is small - the only serious blip was 9/11. In comparison there are thousands of deaths yearly from auto accidents. Statistically you have a far greater chance of being run over by car as you leave LAX than you have of actually being blown up in the air. The politicians are simply exploiting the situation in order to further their own agendas. It's pur Orwellian stuff - a scared population is easier to control.
Nothing new about that.

The security at all airports are a joke, LAX being one of the worst. I was stripped search over a book light in my purse. I live in Los Angeles area, so my I.D. shows that.
I have noticed most people they stop are women like me, 50 years old, average in everyway. While the 25 year old man, carrying a raincoat in 90 degree weather walks right by.
I have witnessed them empty a ladies tampon container, while the guards behind her was snickering. How assinine is that?

The problem is that there are chemicals that, while inert by themselves, can be readily combined to make explosives on board the aircraft.
