I saw this question before and passed on it....this can be a very detailed matter.
The answer can be different depending on your faith. First and formost, its not for any man to pass judgement on another persons state of grace or salvation. God, and God alone decides who goes to Hell.
Now, Are you Catholic or Protestant?
The Church teaches (I mean THE CHURCH) that there is no divorce. Anyone who was validly married within the church by a validly ordained Priest (or Deacon....a Deacon in the Catholic Church is an ordained minister) can never divorce.
Now to add to the confusion: a Catholic couple can civilly divorce and move apart and live alone. Canonically, the divorce is not recognized. In order to remain in a state of grace and remain in communion with the Church and take the Eucharist a divorced person must remain living alone and celibate. You can only go back to the spouse you divorced, live alone, or you can re-marry when one or the other dies.
Anyone who remarries while the ex-spouse is still living is committing Adultery. Adultery is a Mortal Sin and the normal teaching is that Mortal Sin kills the soul and you will go to Hell.
You need to make a petition to the Diocese Tribunal to have the marriage investigated for validity. If its declared null you can remarry. This is not a "Catholic Divorce"....no such thing. What must be determined is that due to various circumstances, the marriage was never a "valid" marriage from the beginning.

First Jesus said that God hates a divorceing, and only allows it in the case of adultery, desertion, or abuse like you said.
but,
Their is no such place as Hell
Ecclesiastes 9:5 For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten. 6 Also, their love and their hate and their jealousy have already perished, and they have no portion anymore to time indefinite in anything that has to be done under the sun.

First of all, divorce is not wrong; it is a termination of a marriage. Being unrepentant has nothing to do with it since it is not wrong. As for going to hell, divorce does not help or hurt; It isn't a factor.
Bottom line: Move on in spirit as you did in body.

Hell fire and damnation is a big lie but breaking God's laws is no joke. I can't imagine what was so horrible that you have no regrets at all but I think it would be a good idea to go to God in prayer and ask him to know your heart and that you did not do this to hurt him. God says he has put life and death before us and we must choose life in order to keep living. He hates a divorce so if you ever marry again I would make very sure that you make it permanant.

Yes. Of course, the same goes for liars, murderers, thieves, gossipers, haters, lusters, homosexuals, drunkards, drug addicts, upstanding community leaders, charity volunteers, religious leaders . . .
All have sinned. A divorcee is no different. If that person has not accepted Jesus as her sin bearer, she and all others who have not, will go to hell.
Salvation is bestowed by God's grace through faith. We can't earn it through good works and we certainly can't buy it with riches or prestige.

The whole premise of Hell is just sickening to me. Not believing in what they believe or doing "bad" things like divorce would send you into the fiery depths? You should be fine. Just be a good person and do your best not to feel threatened by what some old book tells you.

No, no one goes to Hell because it does not exist. There's nothing wrong with wanting to be happy. If one person isn't happy in a relationship neither of them truly will be. If there were such things as sins that sent you to a hell, it would be to live a life of misery and die with regrets.

Why should they? Why should two people who detest each other stay together -- possibly resulting in adultery, dessertion, or abuse -- when they can divorce and find other people that they do want to be with? I think God would rather you divorce than beat the hell out of each other, don't you? God is a God of love, and wants his creatures to be happy, not in a marriage where they are miserable.

Someone is going to hell for a wise decision? Even Jesus says marriage isn't for everybody, so give her your blessings and file for incompatibility.
