BMI is body mass index. It is used to determine whether or not you are overweight, normal weight or underweight...so it is important in determining your health risks. To learn more about it and to see where you stand, go here:

Body mass index is a way to measure how fat or skinny you are taking into account your height (a good overall measure of your size)

Check these sites

In Australia we measure it by taking your weight (in kg) and dividing by your height (in meters) times itself

BMI = wt/(ht x ht)

From this you can find where you are in the scheme of things:

BMI Categories:

* Underweight = <18.5
* Normal weight = 18.5-24.9
* Overweight = 25-29.9
* Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater
